LG Outsiders Episode 2 - Preseason Roundup

Whaaaaat's up fellas? Hope you guys are enjoying your weekend. We decided to record on Saturday because we both had some Valentine's Day activities set up (SHOCKER I KNOW), and wanted to be true gentlemen and not have our girls listen to us nerd out.

When I initially recorded the intro earlier in the week it was a very quiet with not a lot of transactions or league news, but holy shit did things get spicy going into the weekend. You guys will be glad we recorded on Saturday to cover everything as well as button up the preseason with some bullshit predictions to start the season off and give everyone some bulletin board material. Everything else pretty good too and we'll said on the bans. This is why people get so upset with the league and the BOGs bc of the inconsistency. Apparently, he was on thin ice, but if he was

Mute him
Suspend him
Put him on NML moving forward
Don't let him take MGMT in the first place


An entire season was ruined on Xbox and PSN bc of this. The trickle down effect is massive of bans like these over non cheating or refusal to play. We have a mute ability for a reason, make it so he couldn't buy it out or something and slap him with a suspension and nml next szn instead of a ban @PlusSizePounder @ShortyxLOSE @LG McDonald

I wouldn't even say it's the inconsistency as much as it is the over reactions sometimes. He sent a gif of Apu from the Simpsons and bc he was on thin ice he's removed from PSN and xbox. I know we have the CoC and got messages about being held to a higher standard as MGMT but that also should entail some sort of not excuse or lienency but a sort of double take, like alright if we ban this guy for this what are the ramifications of this. Was what he did this bad or offensive and how is it going to effect the league. I know that doesn't stick to a direct rule that backs you guys or validates you on the decision but it definitely I think would show or help explain why you did this or didn't and the thought process behind it and if it helps or hurts the league

I get that could somewhat open the door for bias but to be honest that is already there anyways in decisions you make and has been questioned forever anyways, at least this way it shows there was due diligence and thoughts about the repercussions and rammications to the league. Yes MGMT should be held to a higher standard bc we are figure heads and suppose to responsible and set examples but at the same time we volunteer the most time and effort and help make the league run and make it enjoyable for everyone involved so some consideration from time to time would be appreciated

I’ve always felt LG doesn’t fully examine the trickle down effect of their rulings sometimes. Nearest example I have is the Dan USA game 7 suspension from last season. Yeah it ended up not mattering, but had it gone 7, LG ends up putting their hand in the Stanley cup cookie jar and potentially altering the results over something quite small (while also creating the role of ”4th manager...).

My comparison to the MGMT ban you were referring to, was there were other alternative options, rather than potentially altering results and ultimately ruining it for others completely uninvolved in the situation over something small.

However, I believe the idea of a PA committee was simply laughed at by staff and I believe something along the lines of “Why? So you guys can make poor decisions” not an exact quote, but essentially what was said.

Anyways, my bad, saw Lou’s post and completely agreed with him lol
