Should Shoutbox/Discord/Forums messages be Ban eligible?

I say it with black people all the time. Depends on the person, which goes back to the argument that it shouldn't just be about the word itself. If I walked up to a random black person I'd never met and called them a pineappler the same way you would use a hard R n word back in the day, I would probably still get slapped. The words themselves aren't the problem. Heck, get oxford to change the meaning and would that solve the problem? No, because it's not the word, it's the intent.

 

Not all black people feel the same, can't be catering to everyone about every word they find sensitive and hurtful. I'm generalizing here, as some things obviously shouldn't be said.

 

Words have meaning to them. No matter what, people will always have an emotional response to certain words. It’s very easy to know which words will give a negative response to the overwhelmingly majority of the group that it pertains to in a public place like this site.

Like I said earlier their is a whole list of words that I can give that effect other groups and even more for black people that shouldn’t be said on the site.

There is zero-tolerance for race, religion, sexual orientation, culture, ethnicity, disability, nationality, or gender as a means of insult, or other discriminatory or derogatory remarks. No, seriously, we mean zero tolerance. No abbreviations, slang terms, “leet” speak as substitutions for those words, either.

I think it answers itself right there. The use of words should not result in a ban (sb mute, not ban) unless as a means of insult, which would obviously come down to the parties involved and the BOGs discretion.

 

I think the use of these words should result in a ban there is no place for them in any form for this site.

If it's a LG team related discord, you should eat a mute, not a ban.

However the onus should be on the reporter to prove it's from a LG related discord.

PMs between two LG members should be harassment. Shoutbox bans leading up to site bans.

If it's not LG related then staff should be kicking rocks.

The home page has news about NHL 17 on it, if you click esports from the homepage it takes you to a thread from 2016. Not to mention the extra curriculars on LG are worse then NHL 11 VHL. I could go on but I have to return some videotapes
