LGAHL World Cup - Starts May 18th, information post World Cup Season will commence on May 18th. This will only be open to players who ended the season on an AHL ROSTER. *TC Players are currently ineligible.* Projected Timeline: May 18th to May 20th : 6 Games : Round 1 May 24th to May 27th : 8 Games : Round 2 May 31st : Best of 3 : between top 2 teams of the American Division and Canadian Division June 1st to June 3rd : Best of 7 : Between the winner of the American Division and the winner of the Canadian Division. Owning a Regional Team: If you are interested in becoming an owner of a region an ownership thread will be posted on 5/4/2020 Monday. If you are chosen to be an owner you will be expected to build the best team possible. Troll picking and just picking friends will be frowned upon. Owners will be able to pick both a GM and AGM before picking their team in order to have the best opportunity to organize and scout possible lines. [2:59 PM] Description of the Regions: As happy as we are that you guys know the real regions of Canada and the United States, as well that you guys are all just so super smart that you have to point out the obvious... we ask that you pay no mind to what has been determined to be beneficial to trying to create balanced sign ups. The commish reserves every right to restructure and make changes as they see fit. As of right now this is the regional seperations: Sign Ups: 273 Their have been close to 300 sign ups so far, and we definitely want to get more. Please make sure you are all available to play and that you are signing up for the correct region. Creating extra work for the bogs will not make you well liked and could lead to a punishment. Other Information: Their will be no position lock during the World Cup. NHL players are not allowed to play in the "AHL" World Cup. CHL players are still being considered as ineligible unless sign ups are too low. (CHL has WJC) Sign ups are still being constantly filtered through to find people who should not have signed up. Update** Signups close at 8pm on Sunday the 10th. Zero and i will select owners after this deadline and have them announced either before Games 1 & 2 or after. If you wish to apply please put in an application, there are minimal requirements. Only requirement is that you have a GM picked out before applying. TBD and "i think 'this person' will manage with me are not acceptable answers and you will not be considered. Message to all west coast players - the schedule is balanced so that you will not be playing all away games. If you are west coast and want to play for your region please sign up!
