Coming into our first season as management, Lemelin and I didn’t know what to expect. All we knew is that we were fortunate enough to take over a team that had amazing assets already in place to set us up for success for the long haul of the season. Being able to take a team with our ESHL teammate Thibodd just made that decision to own that much easier. Throughout the whole regular season we knew what we had it was just a matter of keeping it up and getting better as time went on. We made a few moves throughout the season that we thought would give us our best possible shot at a cup and it was difficult as everyone involved were awesome guys, but fortunately it worked out. The regular season was a grind, but we knew what we had to do to put ourselves in a good position come playoff time considering our division was stacked with great teams. We'd like to say good series’ to the Minnesota Wild, Winnipeg Jets, Seattle Thunderbirds and lastly, the Carolina Hurricanes. All 4 of those teams were extremely well managed and loaded with talent, either series could’ve gone any which way. I’d specifically like to point out Carolina and their management as they seem to be in the conference finals or stanley cup every season and that’s ridiculous. A testament to their owner, players and consistency. STANLEY CUP CHAMPS BABY. Couldn’t of asked for a better group of guys that I would’ve rather competed with and fortunately enough won with in our first season as owners. I can honestly say that I enjoyed every moment of it. For all of Lemelin and I’s teammates who won’t be returning because you are going bidding, management or retiring, we wish you the best of luck. For all of you that are, RUN IT BACK one more time! For our Conn Smythe winner there was so many deserving players and it was such a tough decision.
