I play a TWD 6'0 201 Pass and Core balance. (wtv red perk)

It really depends on how you play, Im more an offense D so I use the Pass perk cause this is OP with it, but Heavy hitter is really good too. I just dont use Hockey IQ cause nothing goes through me when im the right place at the right time and it also removes strenght, witch I dont like.

    Thanks

    Here’s my take.
    - I think it depends of who you play against yes , but even more who you play with. As you probably know there’s tons of forward that aren’t using their D properly in the O zone. They have what I call a 180 degree offensive IQ. Meaning they rarely pass to point or to a late guy or will do it so late it’s worst. If you play with guys that will cycle, use d for give and goes, look for 1t or feed when you trail then a more offensive d is required. But if you know it’s not their style I feel that spending too much on offense isn’t a logical deal since you will use defensive skills 10 times more.

This is like the hardest false ever. If you want evidence, look at my 6'7 D man that catches 5'7 forward on a regular basis. Defensive awareness is why. It literally said/says "Increased effort on the backcheck" which is why.

I have been in the same situation as you describe, after a game you think you are perfectly covering the player for the one timer and the puck go right trought you for a goal. Thats frustrating, In this time I was playing with PMD with DEF IQ as primary perk, then I switch to 2way dman with hockey IQ, played with it monts before I realize, I really dont think defensive awareness make that much difference tbh... I switched back to PMD. One think you have to understand, the forewards have their pass maxed up and they wait the perfect timing to pass the puck, if youre off position for 0.001 second or youre player dont have the good angle they will send a rocket trought you. Its frustrating, but thats how I felt since NHL 20 came up. Be closer to the player who receive the pass, good angle and holding l2 to face the puck is the key!! I know some player masterise the holding player skillz, like vive le quebec said, but thats not my cup of cofee!! Good luck bro!!
