NHL 2021 - What's your goalie build?

Just curious what everyone's goalie builds are at the moment? Obviously it's a work in progress.

I was using my Butterfly build from 20 early on in the trial but found I didn't like it as much as last season. Moved to a Hybird and have been using that regularly while playing with some Stand-up builds.

I've been running a 6"5 199lbs Hybrid

For traits I haven't really looked at much. I find the 5 hole is decent this year, towards the end of 20, I was just running no traits and cross cease specialty or the deflection one

 

The traits feel awful this year. I was running a non-trait goalie for a while with the 1 on 1 brickwall red trait.

 

Hybrid 6'4 200 pk energy

 

5'7" 176 sniper everywhere

6’4” 181 hybrid. Butterfly seems clunky and gets murdered up high and why even have stand up. Tips seem weaker this year than in years past so as us men like to believe is true, size doesn’t matter. I’d rather take speed over size. 6’5” feels clunky and to me animates weird, have never been a fan of 6’5”. Anything at the smallest 6’3” should be okay depending on how you play, but snipes seems to be more relevant so it just doesn’t make sense to be smaller than that. Traits are terrible and do nothing. Manually cover five hole when needed and you will be fine. Cross crease master or penalty kill energy to me is the only way to go.

6'3 216 Butterfly no perks

 

Appreciate your feedback. I've actually been using a stand-up build and have been fairly happy with the results.

 

I was rolling with that too. Traits are killing the butterfly goalie.

 

I’m liking 6 4 199 Hybrid with cross crease master. I also believe traits are useless.

I would stay away from Standup, Doesn’t get any desperate animations like Butterfly and hybrid do. And feels terrible,

Again, five hole... gotta go butterfly to take it away.

what camera y’all liking ...? Fixed ? High ?

 

To be honest, I've been running a stand-up the last few nights and haven't been beaten 5-hole once. Surprising, right?

I use Fixed, I like the wide view to be able to see play develop more.

 

Cross Crease perk literally does nothing other than give you like +3 to your speed attribute. The push off speed it says in description is bullshit, its doesnt give you extra push off animation just gives you +3 in speed which is useless for goalies since Agility stat is what makes you make multiple saves in a row. Speed just makes u skate faster to the bench if you wanna be extra attacker. The deflection perk is good tho for butterfly goalies since it gives you +3 vision.

I been using 6'4 BFY 181 since NHL 18..prob gonna use it this year too even tho been switching it up every other game to test.

Anyone test the one timer perk this year?

I haven't been using any on my bufferfly goalie with the 1 on 1, Brickwall red trait only.

 

I haven't tested it yet, maybe I'll add it today. I'm finding i make all my blocker side 1 timer saves and I'm 50/50 on the glove. Maybe it'll help?

Glove hand seems so weak again.

 

Mostly been running with the purple blocker up and down +deflection. Sometimes use purple glove up+purple blocker down since this year you can probably get away with low 5hole stats. Ran some games with purple glove up+purple 5hole (for agility boost) as well.
