*These are all based on my opinion (AND STATS) if you don't agree, well simply be better.* Welcome to my first ever weekly awards thread, thought i'd try this since there is very minimal media regarding the AHL and i've been in LG for so long that I think my opinion is valuable. To keep this short and sweet this is just a weekly tracker on the best players for each AHL award as the season progresses. If you think there are things i can approve upon please let me know in a nice matter all other will be ignored, Thank you! Best Defenseman - Eddie Shore Award Domc0893(RD) is my winner here's why, 9pts is 2nd in the League in scoring and with 30 Interceptions, a +7, a TA/GA of 0 with 12 for each, and with an 84% passing hes gets my vote! Best Goaltender (statistical) - Harry (Hap) Holmes Memorial Award @dudethisishard is my winner and here's why, with 4gp he is 3-1 with #1 in Save % with a .926 and a 1.24 GAA that alone gives him this week 1 award lets see if he can keep it up throughout the season. Coach of the Year (GM FOR LG*) - Louis A.R. Pieri Memorial Award @Blades-l59l & @Cornect57 is my winner and here's why, it's really quite simple they are both boasting a 7-1-1 record after week one because of bidding and the transaction they made to get to that point. Hopefully i won't have to give this award out to 2 people next week. Leading Scorer - John B. Sollenberger Trophy @xJohnny03 (RW) is my winner and here's why, this one is easy, the guy has 3gp 19pts. NEXT! Most Valuable Player - Les Cunningham Award @xJohnny03 (RW) is my winner and here's why, hes 3-0-0 and he's leading his team and the league in points, id say hes the MVP, don't you? Sportsmanship/Perseverence - Fred T. Hunt Memorial Award @John_SheIdon is my winner and here's why, he is quite simply the nicest robot in the league, i always look forward to his Good Morning/Evenings/Night in the shoutbox so he is my winner!
Good Morning @CLXXK , I appreciate & happy to accept Week 1’s Fred T Hunt’s memorial award. Even though there’s many throughout the league especially in the AHL much deserving of this. I’m happy to set the path moving forward in the weeks to come. I believe treating others with respect in this league hopefully goes a long way into introducing some positive light for new members joining. Also being in the AHL has humbled me in a bit & I’m looking to help & be a leader to those younger / newer players within our organization. When you go out on to that ice it's going to be war. Sportsmanship is playing to the best of your abilities and then, afterwards, shaking your opponent's hand. Once again thank you for the mention & I’m excited to see Week 2’s & beyonds choices.
@xMankii How does it feel to be snubbed the recognition of "coach of the year" after week one ? After "boasting" a 7-1-1 record which was the same as the Penguins and Wolves, you were yet to be mentioned ! I guess as @Savage_kiills would say, get Fuc***
