Actually NHL died completely where nobody was playing 6s, club or anything other than the top 10 esports teams scrimming for tourneys. Then drafts revived it and drafts could only survive so long being player ran. Unfortunately from your POV it seems like that but it was quite the opposite. The just above casual player base that plays LG has people like Lucas, fish, Mike Scott, Fire, and the others who spent time making the discord’s to thank for giving us a few more months of chel content.
Draft lobbies are for the out of shape kids who would rather have the blue light on their face instead of the sun. It’s the summer, go outside have a beer and make some friends! Funny how people care more about elo than people they’re normally cool with now. Quite embarrassing.
Drafts was fun till ELO became a thing. Everyone just wants to hoard ELO rather than just chill and have a good time.
Jjr to be fair the one game that we played drafts together was my 1st game in a year so i hope everyone would be significantly better than me. Unfortunately that wasnt the case and the kids who play 24/7 have such big egos that they think being slightly better than someone who took a year off is an accomplishment. I played with ur brother and you took the kids mic off to talk shit to me and then scurry away. Btw im pretty sure we won that game i was soooo bad in. Good talk
I never quit a game so good lie. Once again you shouldnt lose to somebody playing their 1st game in a year.
Drafts are drop-ins without wanting to hurt yourself. If you're treating them as the only way you engage with the mode you'll feel like something is missing. If EA didnt implement the 5 different cups on dogshit ice every 3 weeks people might be more willing to play random search games.
Well your story keeps changing in the draft lobby. People like you are the issue with the league. You have wayyy too big of an ego.
i will agree with RGD club is way better then the 6s draft discord at least in club u are in a party and communicating with your team mates and can actually talk about set plays or what center is doing on the draws in the 6s draft discord there is 0 party it like playing drop ins.
I think drafts are great for being able to just play whenever you want especially early on in the day when club would usually be dead (kind of like competitive drop-ins), but I do kind of agree that it sucks how it has become like the "go-to" way to play nhl now. Honestly a lot of this falls on EA for not making EASHL a mode where you actually have much of an incentive to want to play club at all
I agree with RGDeded on this one. I'd rather watch the paint dry on my wall then join a sweat drafts lobby where no one is in party, and you risk getting purged after one bad game. Played 2 drafts games in my life, will never do it again.
Nhl ruined nhl with the dumb outdoors rink you can always find a team to do scrims against Also LG is played on the cc connection not the through the start game connection so the game feel is different and you will benefit more from playing club challenge @RGDeded
That is why i am saying ccs should be the go to not a draft lobby when there are tons if people on. Nobody can deny that the game has flaws but ccs shouldnt be as hard to find as they currently are.
I mean, RGD.. you’ve been in the Drafts server for like a week and a half.. this thing started back at the beginning of the lockdowns and hard carried competitive non-league games for months and months. We started off the latest iteration mostly only with NHL and some AHLers but thought it would be best for the community to include all levels. It definitely has been a little rocky, but its always better to be more inclusive than less. We’ve tried different variations of channel/level separation and its a work in progress. For the most part, if you find your groove in the server and become a little proactive, a lot of lobbies turn into full best of 3’s with talkative parties. It’s in the hands of those who join the lobbies. Theres also mini tournaments, double elo /scrim lobbies, trophies and more to come to expand the idea of drafts. No one is forced to be apart of the community and to be honest, the casual club gatherings are at the same frequency as they were at the start of covid. If anything, these two servers have ramped up the amount of non-league play 10 fold. I understand the different issues with party-less, one and done, long waits, etc. but if draft goers are proactive and enthusiastic, they can be really fun. Just my two cents
Yea I agree, it's up to the community and the community sucks and is relatively small and toxic. Which is why it's been stagnant for as long as it has been. There you have it.
Props to @Miike Scott and @Firehalomaniac and all the others who assist with the draft lobbies. They do an awesome job. The concept is really cool and it’s a cool way to play 6s when working as intended. As others have said though, it makes it harder to try new positions and you run into the long wait issues when it’s not going as intended I do think elo is a double edged sword. It gives people an incentive to grind drafts which keeps the community there active but it also cause people to be very toxic at times. The no joining party thing is also really dumb and killed it for me cause I wanted to mingle and BS with more people.
The title is just clicky cnn style clickbait. If you read what alot of people are saying is that drafts are great but shouldnt be the go to. Ive done plenty of 12s lobbies i enjoyed when people sre communicating but like you said thats a different story. Idk if it goes against the ways of elo discort but cant a channel just be added for gathering 6s and then add a few more scrim lobbies?
