i sent too many Omaha’s and took too many charging penalties for this stat system

Does it factor in strength of opposition? It'd be interesting to see it weighted by the overall performance of the teams they played against, and/or the average performance of the forward group they defended against in those games.

 

The player's you play with make a massive difference also.

 

It does not. I don't have the time to grab the 120+ opponents each player played against and then average their records. If LG had the stats available, it most certainly would be one of the 9 I used. It's arguably the most telling stat.

 

put in take/give plus/minus... only good stat i have lmfao

i think measuring the time with puck and then also the ga/ta does tell a story of how responsible a dman is with the puck. Also good dmen can act like point gaurds and distribute the puck, break traps or make great passes in the NZ to open up space for a forward to gain an entry, or even a high lofting dump.

 

I know of something more frustrating: a dman who consistently rushes passes only to create multiple turnovers in their own zone. I'm not sure if LG has stats on turnovers or possession time by zone, but if they do, then a ratio for successful breakouts and time to breakout might be interesting.

I dont think a high puck possession stat is that bad for a dman, if you look at that mixed with his passing percentage it shows good patience imo.

 

The fact last years Baby Bruins GM is on here scares me, dude couldn’t manage his way out a paper bag. Doubt his on ice skill is any different.
