https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1200213715 at about 17 minutes, one of the Anaheim players lags out, the play is stopped at about 15 minutes however Anaheim does not back out and continues to play the game. with about 57 seconds left in the 3rd period it's a 3 - 2 game, the game is paused for a whole 30 seconds and Not a single player backs out, The faceoff is lost I walk in and snipe it the game is tied at 3 - 3, the goalie then immediately leaves. and The shenanigans start to begin, After about 10 Minutes of waiting the game is continued, the assumption is that we are in OT because there were only seconds remaining on the clock and it was a tie game. ducks win the face and dump for a penalty and then they LEAVE for no reason at all, Again we matchup this time they killing the clock for god now's what reason, @LEGAL x 76 decides he's had enough strips the puck of the player and scores, we move on to the next game. let the bogs handle it. The current ruling from my understanding is that the game is to be played at 15 minute mark with the score being 3 - 2. despite the fact that my goal clearly went in before the goalie left, not only that but if the players on Anaheim were to leave they should of done it at the 15 minute mark, OR before the faceoff when the game was paused for a WHOLE 30 seconds not leave while the game is actively going.
Unless rules changed or my memory is defective, usually when a player lags out we play until the end of the period. Then we restart to play the periods left and the team take a penalty. Not sure why you expected them to back out in the middle of a period If they backed out, you guys just had to restart where you were and they had to take a penalty. Seems a simple situation there
All of your options were wrong @Dradavich . Per rules set up 2 seasons ago; if a player lags out in 3rd period, teams play till next whistle. Goalies (from both teams) are to back out. When entering back into the game; team that lagged out is to take a penilty 5 min added on to the last wistle of the perious session. So if the lagout happened at 17 min and the next whistle was 1 min later, there will be no clock countdown. Simply win faceoff and take pen.
"Game is 3 - 2 in the 3rd peroid with 15 minutes to be played sometime later" is what the bogs officially decided on.
Should keep them simple to wait until end of period and then back out like we used to do. If some team is constantly having the issue happen then player suspensions would be handed out. Idk anyone who lags out of a game on purpose though. We all know its aids.
