Sharks Pacific Cup - Important Information

Season 2 of the #SharksPacific Cup starts this week, this is the largest ever 6s event in history with a $30,000usd prize pool, and over $3,500usd worth of free giveaways from WD_BLACK.

Each Sharks Stream we are giving away a 1 terabyte WD_BLACK SSD Hard drive.
WD_BLACK stepped up this year by not only increasing the prize pool but also increased the free giveaways that will happen each and every stream. At the end of each stream we will give away a free gaming 1TB SSD, here are the prize details

• Regular Season Broadcasts - 1TB WD_BLACK D30 Game Drive SSD for Xbox
• The "Shark Bite" - Talk Show - 1TB WD_BLACK SN770 NVMe SSD
• Playoff Game Broadcasts - 1TB WD_BLACK D30 Game Drive SSD
• Finals Broadcast - 1TB WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD

Changes in how we do Broadcasts
We are changing up the formula a bit on how we do broadcasts, one thing we need to move past as a community is to not always have the broadcast at the same time as when everyone is playing.

Here are the key changes below

• There will be 2 shows a week, however 1 show will be the "Shark Bite" Talk Show on Mondays, the 2nd broadcast will be a premium game broadcast where casters covering the games that night
• Very Important: Normally the game broadcast starts at 9pm ET/6pm PT and covers 4 games. This year for the regular season we are going to follow one team, and move their 2 early games from 9:00/9:30 to 11:00/11:30. This way all the players playing in the league can actually watch the broadcast when their games are complete, and have a chance at claiming the WD_BLACK give away. There will only be 5 regular season broadcasts. This means only 5 teams will be fully featured for the regular season. The broadcasts for regular season start at 10pm ET / 7pm PT.
  
• Very Important: Our premium broadcasts will have all 12 players on camera. We ask all players understand and cooperate fully this requirement if they are asked to be part of the featured stream.
• Our broadcasting technology has hit a new level. We worked directly with the Sharks design and video team to not only create all the assets for this broadcast but we linked those assets directly to LG games. This means all the dynamic data like player names, lineups, stats, logos are coming right from the LG site and rendered in real time using our dynamic video system. This has never been done before in NHL esports and something we are really proud to show off. Here is a demo that shows it in action and all the data was from this game.

The "Shark Bite" talk show - Mondays 9pm ET/6pm PT
This is a first of its kind in NHL esports and came from the "playoff pickem" shows we did last year where Sleeves would bring on guests to talk about their matchups and bring out the story lines and personalities of this community. This show will be hosted by NoSleeves & Griz and will cover weekly topics, bring on guests and bring up weekly story lines. Then in the playoffs this show will also host the popular live "Playoff Pick'ems". Each show will have a WD_BLACK giveaway.

Finally, Social Media
My last ask for this community is to improve their social media activity and support for the event and our great sponsors, not only is the ask to upload tools using our "Social media generator" videos and images, but if you see other posts on twitter, to also like, or event comment there. We need to get the external activity on twitter higher then it currently is. As a community, all of us, need to support each other and their content on social media.

At LG, we are currently in Caps where we have 66 NA teams and 29 EU teams, Even though the EUs are half NA their social media contributions are so much higher then NA and its because they not only support their team mates and teams but their entire EU community. NA needs to learn and duplicate this mindset.

Just think where we were 18 months ago to where we are today, We have over $100,000 worth of free-to-play NHL team esports events to compete in, we have sponsors giving away massive prizes, we have developed top casters and social media influencers, and now we have our first ever NHL esports team with the Isles GT.
