5 Overrated and 5 Underrated Players based on the Community Polls

A Couple of days ago Joffman published the results of the community polls he was doing, and here imo are the players the are underrated and overrated.


Overrated


Newt x 89 (15/111 Winger [3.49])
=================
Newt is a Solid NHL Caliber Player, He is not however a Top 15 Winger in this League, Newt puts up decent numbers but nothing close to top 15 Caliber for reference at the moment me (109/111) and Newt have the same exact amount of points (35). The Past 3 Seasons have shown that Newt is a solid 3rd/maybe 2nd liner on a contender, A support player that compliments your top guy on the 2nd line, Newt cannot consistently carry they're own line past the best lines in the league, and that's something a top 15 winger should be able to do.


Nolan_M-30 (34/111 Winger [3.09])

From what I hear He's very nice guy however he's putting up PP numbers on offense 35 points last season 29 this season, This is not a top 40 winger. From what I hear he's good defensively but why play winger then? why not center or defense. it just doesn't make any sense. Does having one solid season on a cup contender really matter if the next 2 seasons you're below average? Imo hell no.


Gadzookzzz (35/51 Goalie [2.34])

2.34 a rating which suggests this goalie is a serviceable backup is too high for a goalie as consistent as the average politician flip-flopping on hot button issues. One night you get a competent starting goaltender and another night you get the CHL Training camp goaltender, a couple seasons away from the game have not been kind to gadz.


McLxvinn (4/111 Winger [4.18])

Time to get really controversial, I'm going say it he's washed. 8 - 11 - 3 on a Jclaus team? even I could do better. Even his other most recent season was not top 5 caliber, I'm not saying he's bad but he's not Top 5 anymore. Perhaps my hot take will be completely blown out of the water if this Carolina team makes playoffs and goes on a run but that's a big if and McLxvinn's poor season is part of the reason why.


Manzyyz_ (41/111 Defensemen [2.88])
=========================
Mediocre 3rd line defensemen propped up by being on 2 good teams for the whole season and yet still is barley .500. Gets cooked almost everytime he plays top lines, Not a bad Defensemen at all Just not top 50.


Underrated

SqueegyDingers87 (96/111 Winger [2.19])

I might be a little biased here but come on man Squeegy is top 25 in scoring despite the fact that he missed a whole week due to being in the AHL, Everywhere he's played he has put up fantastic numbers and he hasn't stopped. Some may accuse him of being an x-factor merchant but if it was so easy for him to play the way he does why hasn't anyone else done it? Why aren't all the top players doing it either. This a guy is a solid 2nd liner on any contender.


NLands (101/111 Winger [2.09])
=====================
NLands being rated this low is absolutely horrendous, What did Lands do to deserve this? Another up and coming player from the AHL Lands is 16th in the scoring race yet is being rated as the 10th worst winger, come on now. Lands puts the puck in the net no matter what team it is and having him this low is just stupid.


xxSega (97/111 Winger [2.18])

The Calder Cup winner has been very solid in the NHL, 14 - 3 - 3 is a fantastic record especially on 2 teams that probably aren't making the playoffs, This is just another case of people rating someone low because they were in the AHL last season.


eStokes (57/104 Defensemen [2.68])
=======================
Helped Shutdown one of the best lines in the league with a Chl TC ecu on RD, do i really need to say more? Stokes is a top 25 defensemen in this league, he's put up solid numbers (besides one bad season) since S11.


MetroBoominq (58/111 Winger [2.70])

This guy has put together several Fantastic Seasons for the past 4 seasons like he's ludwig von beethoven orchestrating a masterclass Symphony and yet he's rated below top 50, that's just gross.



Inb4 someone brings up my record or horrible AHL seasons because they don't like my spicy hot takes.

 

Could have just said your guys were underrated and you had the same amount of points as Newtz.

on another note, the last 2 seasons ive been on 2 horrible teams playing with ecus non stop. Finally got traded to a playoff team and now look, im winning games again! Anyways, youre 11-22 so im not sure why I even bothered reading this. Have a good one bro

One of the many mistakes i've made this season, yes.

 

You are clearly underperforming not because you were in less good team .. @abailg and @Persinger92 both have 40+ pts season and a better +/- then you. You got 9 games with the sharks in your 6 first game with them you had 5 points . Your last 3 game your best week with 8 pts playing vs cbj with 3 ECUs and third line Winnipeg you are finally performing LOL. You don't have to go at @Dradavich record when is right and he was not saying anything that bad towards you .
