Well considering goalies got absolutely fucked last year, I'd say this a great improvement. It makes the position fun to play and some of the saves are actually pretty entertaining to watch. So, no.
I mean they kinda nerfed defense this year so goalies being improved is fine. You won’t be scoring a mile out (besides tips/rebounds off those shots) anymore but it’s also still kinda easy to score a foot away from the net, which is how it should be. You know the saying, “if you want bread you go to the store, if you want money you go to the bank, and if you want goals you go to the net.”
They fucked up goalies this year and you can see it right away, I can’t score snipes anymore even when the goalie isn’t in position. A patch is needed
Ight, so you want goalies to get bailed and make saves when they are deep in their net/ out of position rather than reward a good shot/scoring chance. More games will also end up being decided by some garbage goal because of this cuz a lot of the good chances wont go in like they should
I totally agree that deep sitting out of position saves where the G just flashes the leather should be nerfed, that’s about it. Everything else about goalie is pretty good atm, the glove is just too op even when G’s are out of position, but I wouldn’t want them to nerf it and affect one tees going in from a mile out when the G is squared up to the shot. If I had to choose, I’d take it how it is now compared to last year where a guy can gold one tee from the blue line and consistently score on a G in perfect position.
My salary is already too high at 1M$ @Actiiz-, @Aceyx76 and @Daoustttt_12 the teams just have to take two 750K$, the goalies are all the same this year anyway! Seriously, I'm not going to lie, he no longer has a skill gap between goalies ! It's a fact and I believe the community knows about it. The problem is that either forwards are too strong, defensemen are too strong or goalie are too strong (first time this happened in 4 NHL GAMES). I rather think that what makes a good player is that he adapts quickly to the new game. What is the objective of buying a game and staying in the same Gameplay! Already it's difficult to hit and stick lift, I don't think heatseaker is necessary, you can create plays on the attack and you can include the defence with shots from the point. That being said, I agree that some snipes should be rewarded but there's always a middle. NHL22 goalies were coming out of the net and the old blue line snipe was still going in with Heatseaker (which is a perk that requires no talent btw). We crossed our fingers to stop a puck. Season after season, the players in the community have to adapt to a new game, it was more often the goalie for once it's up to you forwards. If you use close quarter and you use it well you will be able to snipe again !
There were 3 shutouts last night in 64 games. There was 6 games where one team scored 6+ goals. I'm just saying people can complain about goalies being too OP all they want, I haven't seen it. The same saves people complain where G's are outta position and still glove it were in every single game. Most of those people complaining about goalies are the ones taking 6-7 shots per game as a team. Yes goalies are smoother, we're on new gen after all, but close quarters literally allows you to shoot through them even in position, kinda like Heatseeker did last year. Game is just different. People love to complain.
Close quarters is sooo OP it's not even fun. Goalies are squared in net and it goes through them. EA just needs to spend some time on the goalie position. Deep sitting in net shouldn't be the strategy. If you think goalies are OP'd, take some shots from the point, look for deflects and greasy rebounds with CQ, it's the new meta.
