Lately there was alot of talk about banning some X-Factor from the league. One of the most talked one is Truculence, because 5'9", 160pds players are crying cause they can't straight line into the zone. It would be a huge mistake to ban it, but if this is the way the league wants to go, they better ban Elite Edge also. Aint gonna lie, EVERY good player use elite edge, there is always 8 to 10 players with it in games, at this point I think we should removed it. Whats the point of having it if everyone does, it makes the builds boring and the other x-factor useless. There was also some talk about Unstoppable Force, at this point why not ban all of the "physical" x-factor? Players could only use offensive and defensive one. While we are at it, should we ban Close Quarter also? It would force players to add more stats to their shot ability, atm everyone add the minimum required for Close Quarter cause they know their 75 power wristshot will go as a 85 because of the x-factor, if banned maybe not everyone will play with 93-95 speed to add more shooting. In conclusion, I think banning x-factor only reward certain type of players/playstyle, which make the game totally unfair to players playing a different style. We don't want a league that every players play with the same build/x-factor or do we? Thats what it'll be with the ban of x-factors.
Banning perks/attributes/glitch-goals/self-boards/any other in-game play is never helpful and adds nothing but controversy to the game. Play the game the way it is and stop complaining when people play better than you. Only puck ragging should be somewhat regulated but even that should be allowed to a certain extent. When all 5 forwards go straight their own blue line to trap as soon as they lose possession, especially when losing, why would the opposing team not rag? Anybody else keeping up with the World Cup? That’s how the game is played. The meta is the meta and it’s stupid to artificially change it. The same thing applies for X-factors. Stop trying to change the way the game is played and just play the game.
Banning CQ will make a lot of kids cry because they wont be able to score anymore because they wont know how without the help of CQ so I agree with the bans, make the game skillful again
I knew EA couldnt be trusted to do these traits in a good way. I honestly wouldnt mind if LG decided that we use builds with no abilities.
Truculence is trash because it just allows you to commit penalties like 10 stride charges. Unstoppable force is OP, especially if teams stack it (all fwd line) and I'm with you about edges.. everyone uses it, you basically have to or you're left behind. I'd be ok just getting rid of them all. Tbh the only one that stands out as cheesy is gold truculence.
The term “overpowered” is thrown out way too much. There’s nothing “overpowered” about making a player skate better or giving him better control of the puck. The best X-factors are the best X-factors because they’re stronger than the others. Why would we deliberately lower the quality of play by removing the strongest traits? It would be like forcing hockey players to play with wooden sticks because the new composite material sticks are “overpowered.” While we’re at it, why don’t we force everyone to make all their builds as weak as possible, that way everybody sucks and the game gets stale. Doesn’t make sense to me.
We just dont see it the same way. To me someone destroying everyone anywhere near them is worse for the quality of play. If everyone was running no traits you would have even more build diversity because it would be all attributes and not everybody running the same 4-5 abilities.
I definitely see your point. Would be interesting to see how it would play out for sure, maybe you are right.
