Xbox Live Players, h there are a bunch of very good player out there (in general, those players can t afford to pay for xbox live; and even if it is free, xbconnect is a great service, u should give him a chance if you plan not to pay anymore for xbox live ) so i played great players out there as i said, for exemple : stivy, nadavcubex, legueux Niveaking, Ernspin JeNova, DJChard, MJ23 elbutcho, lion2466, bluegoat, kevin supreme and you can play me as well (Kyro on xbconnect) basically european xbconnect players, so maybe this message is destinated to European Xbox Live Player (for better ping in matches) so, see you around maybe ps : the xbconnect free version is perfect, no need to pay for the pro - - - Kyro
why dont you just pay 50 dollaz for live? and then you will play the real competition with no lag
there is no lag on xbconnect if you respect some rules like : - turn of downloads to have a good ping around 100 for perfect matches and even on xbox live there may be some lag if players are to far away from each other
The only reason I ever played on XBConnect (or Gamespy) was to play HALO. I love that game but it's so hard to find a lag free session it's not worth the effort. It's just not the same without voice support also.
they must have changed it up because i never heard anyone talk when i tried out xbconnect xbl is 100000000000000x better man you really ought to buy yourself an account
i can tell you, i don t have a mic for my xbox but i ve once played against someone who was able to talk to me during the match he was talking and i was answering by chating lol
All it takes is for someone to have a crappy upload to kill the game (HALO) even if the host's connection rocks. I spent far more time searching for a good room than actually playing the game which was frustrating. I didn't know they had voice support now. I'm sure xbc works better for the one on one games like Top Spin where you know exactly if the match will be lag free. The fun for me is playing with people I know. There aren't a lot of people I know that still play xbc. Tell those guys to quit being tightwads and lay down $50. I can't imagine that they couldn't find/earn $50 for a Live subscription.
that s why i m posting in the top spin forum for top spin, on xbconnect, it is very very easy to find a game without any lag
I've heard that the lag with Europeans is hideous on XBOX Live. I wonder if it's any different on xbc? :?
that s what i was saying earlier; whatever the online mode (xbox live, xbconnect or xboxlink), if your are far away from each other, there will be big lag in game so you have to pay attention on the country where your opponent is from, and ask him his connection (if it s adsl or cable...) and ask him to turn off anything that could create lag in a game (like downloads)
Does distance really play a factor in online gaming? I can play someone from 5 blocks away and have more lag than someone who lives in Canada so I'm just not really seeing how the whole distance thing works.
after a quick google search i found : "[...]A ping of anything less than 350 is playable. Trying to play with anything higher is like trying to sprint through a sea of treacle with lead weights attached to your legs. You will also see players with a huge range of pings. The reason for this is mainly down to three factors: Distance from the games server, how the Players have set-up their configuration, and their connection speed.[...]" from here yes, it s talking here about pc online gaming but it s the same i think for xbox online gaming (xbox architecture is a x86 and its OS is a a derivative of win2k )
It is the distance of how the packets travel across the lines. Even though you may have someone 5 blocks away the internet traffic does not go straight to them. My previous company was in southwest missouri and their internet traffic went to Virginia first before it would go anywhere else. So it is all in network distance that creates lag and it is just very obvious that Europe is a long ways away.
well guess what...on xbl you just click optimatch and you can find a whole slew of lagless matches within seconds...with voice chat i might add
hmm, guess you havn't really been on top spin much it was taking me about 10-15 min just to find a match the other night.
Don't know all I know is that there were not very many people on and I would see a game and then it was gone or didn't accept, so maybe there was just a slump of people looking for games rather than hosting. Who knows, I will give it a try again sometime soon.
