ESPN Hockey. Offline Well, after much toiling and messing around, I've come up with gameplay sliders I really like. So here they are! Mind you, they are for the ALL-STAR level skill and I've set them up for a bit longer periods than most here (12 minutes), but you can set them to 10 minutes if some of you want. My style of playing is to always wait for the right opportunity and not just run around like a crazed dog in heat. I bring up the puck by passing it around (and sometimes back to my Defensemen), not skating it up. In the offensive zone, I try to keep it deep and move it around behind the net and around the boards. Always looking towards the crease for players getting in position for a juicy one timer or quick wrist shot (which does work). On Defense, it's all about man to man coverage. Keeping an eye out for the front of the crease is crucial and so is putting pressure on the puck carrier, but not necessarily by trying to smash him into the boards. A good poke check or block move serves to force him to maintain possession of the puck past the point where the CPU will just toss it in front for a one timer. Finally, as others have said here already, you have to learn to NOT pass with the goalie so often. I know it's hard what with the refs not whistling down the play fast enough anymore like they did in NHL 2K3, but on the flip side, if you do make the mistake of passing it out, you will get burned with at the very least an additional 5 shots per pass you make with the goalie (not to mention a goal or two). Your safest be when your goalie has the puck and you can't afford to waste time waiting for the ref to stop the play, just drop it behind the net to your D-man. So without further ado, here they are: Quote: GENERAL: Period Length - 10 to 12 Minutes Skill Level - ALL-STAR Game Speed - 0 Click Penalties - 7 Clicks Fighting - 3 Clicks Puck Friction - 6 Clicks Ice Friction - 6 Clicks Freeze Puck Time - 0 Clicks Glass Breaking Frequency - 5 Clicks Pinning - On Offside - On Icing - Auto Two-Line Pass - Auto ADVANCED: Home Strategy Change - Manual Home Line Change - Auto Away Strategy Change - Manual Away Line Change - Auto Referee Collision ? If you don't use that feature, just put the STRATEGIES to MANUAL). That's normal, IMO. I wanted to give players the ability to make a dash for it when they have a breakaway and I've set the recovery pretty low so that you can't abuse it: you speed burst once, and then you have to actually wait to recharge and do it again. As for what results I get with these sliders, well again, I do tend to play a little conservatively so I get away with playing long periods and shot counts over 30 don't phase me too much, but on the whole I'd say I can get some pretty good games up to now. I've seen about 5 or 6 goals scored per game (combined), about 30 to 40 shots (higher if you get stuck in OT, and again, this is if you DON'T be a mook and pass the puck around with your goalie), about 25 hits per side, 15 penalties during the game (combined). Passing is pretty even at about 75-80% on average for both teams. In any case, try 'em if you want something different. The longer period times also allow for more possibilities on the PP and makes the PK that much more challenging. It's just that you have to be very aware of everything that happens on the ice. Good luck!
yeah, thats why he is posting it all, cuz he is Canadian. Nah but he is the owner of xboxsports and xboxhockey, so he writes a lotta stuff and other people write stuff for the site, so he has all that stuff.
