POLL: Performance EQ Same as the other Poll. Post your vote and any comments if you wish. I vote EQ off. I will go along with the majority of course.
I'm going with off. The D may play smarter but now all receivers not just star receivers haul in ball like they have leather magnet gloves. I'm a poor team in the steelers 78 ovl, i don't mind the challenge...
This statement about the receivers completely contradicts what Shush said he didn't like about EQ, "too many dropped passes". These are two extremes, but my experience has been somewhere right in the middle and that's why I like it. I don't think everyone is giving it a fair shot, or even trying it at all. I think we're going to see some really outlandish statistics for the season with EQ off.
I agree, the games i played it was nice to have the DB play their zones. I know when I play ill see backs run in the wrong direction for no reason. I could time my pass block/int's. When I blew the call on D I got burned. There was less this feel of no matter what i call he is still going to move the ball at will. With the Giants and a 73 rated D and no LB or DB above 78 ratings i have to call it almost perfect to stop an important drive.
I normally play with the G-Men too Giotto. I know they have a crappy defense this year (in the game and in real life), but it's just magnified to such a degree where you feel like there's no way to make a stop when you really need one. With EQ on, it's still hard as their D still doesn't match up very well, but I feel like I'm more in control of the situation. My strategy is to play safe defenses that pretty much give up 1st downs just so I can prevent big plays and hopefully force a turnover by the time they reach my endzone.
For me, stats are not the issue. I've played all three seasons of ESPN. The last two seasons I played with a horrible Chargers squad. I now have a mid-range rated team and have paid my dues to get it. To 'even' things up would just put me right back where I started. Also, I'm not a great player to begin with and I can use any advantage I can get against the many great players in our league.
That doesnt make much sense too me. I can understand wanting EQ on for a sim game like the real NFl. But if your argument is having a better team this season. Then what of guys like Indigo who have the Lions this year and has played every season and been the Commish for 2 seasons. And then is it fair based on your argument to have new owners get Philly?
I have had allot of games where i have one in every stat, time of possion rushing and passing, but have lost the game. The only thing i can put my finger on is my D. I do need to play better D, but i wouldnt mind a little help. The good thing is it had forced me to play a better game.
