If this happens, it will be approximetly $63.74 after tax in Illinois. I'll seriously stop playing video games if it will cost me this much.

Dont you dare complain about tax. In Ontario its 15% on everything so the games would be after tax

$80.49 and $86.29. since the canadain dollar is so strong now it's much cheaper to get the games from the states now.

Games have been $49.99 for as long as I can remember. I paid $49.99 for NHL '93 on the Genesis during my Jr year of college.

Be glad games don't cost closer to $80 each, because they should (given how much everything else has gone up). We've been buying games at ultra low prices for a long time... and some of these $19.99-$29.99 games are probably being sold at near losses.

If they go up in price hopefully it won?t last long. I think $50 a game now is still pushing the envelope. I know it does for me. You know they?ll try it with the new consoles and hopefully it will affect demand and they'll drop prices. They always love talk about prices being based production cost. Much like baseball owners blame the cost of tickets on players? salary. But prices are based on supply and demand. And the gaming industry is one of the more profitable industries out there now. They made more money then the movie industry last year and it only going up. Theoretically prices could drop based on the number of units sold, which 2K is trying to force to increase their circulation. I remember when movies sold for $90 and $100. Then Raiders came out for $30 and profits went through the rough. And now with new releases on DVD you can pick up for less the $20 based purely on the number of units sold. God bless America and capitalism. Which is why I?m still mad at the NFL and EA. You know Madden will be one of the first to increase price maybe not next year, but soon.

Higher prices will make us all more selective. That's for sure!

Yep no more buying two football games or getting new release every month (if that)... They could probably cancel my subscription.. YEAH RIGHT!!...

But yes it would make me more selective and DEMAND more out of these guys that make these games...

If we have to pay $60+ for games they better be damn worth it. Online play better be flawless...give us some more bang for the buck.
