upgrade your package to at least 3 meg with your service provider ( If you can )

Bell Canada had a sweet promotion for an upgrade from 3 meg to 5 meg that I took and don't regret it at all, I am paying $ 25.99 per month* ( CDN ) solid connection and I honestly cannot remember having any down time....

*promotion in conjunction between Bell Canada and the company I work for

I'm getting ripped off, $45 a month for 3 meg that they say has been increased. Good thing i'm switching to a 10+ meg connection next week and at the same price.

When I had DSL 1.5Mbps it sucked. I've had Comcast highspeed for about 2 years now and I'm getting 7Mbps and it blazes.

If you have DSL I'd suggest changing over to cable.

Kinda slow today, there is a camp in my building.... :(

[edit]Yes that is in kilobits/sec, and it is a T-1, normally shared with 200-400 students. Fortunately, by the time school starts we will have gigabit fiber installed ;)[/edit]

I have DSL 3.0 Mbps and I will update to 6.0 Mbps when it is available here. Some areas have this mbps, so I am waiting on mine.

I was not impressed with cable because it causes online gaming lag and too much latency unless I get Comcast or Roadrunner. It would be different, but I don't have that.

I have adelphia I believe it is the 1.5mbps. Those of you who have played against sseagle here know how it can be. My roommate is a cheap punk who doesn't like spending money on a faster connection. It sucks.

I'm interested what could cause only a 1.6 mbs download speed because I got a 5 megabit cable modem. Not seen much lag but it still pisses me off that its that low.

    Re: 1.6 Mbs Download

....your Upload speed is just as important as the download speed, what is your upload, cause if it's slow, it will cause lag
