Clemens was traded here and he wanted to come here to win a championship and as far as i know he was fine about coming here. I know last year damon said he would retire before being a yankee but then why did he sign the contract...
I think the Cards will pull this one out as long as they stay away from Beltran...he's got the Cardinals number for some reason. I remember 2 years ago and night after night he was just nailing the ball over the fence. In the 6th inning last night one of the commentators said, "Weaver isn't backing down is going right after Beltran"....to which I turned to my wife and said, "We're screwed, he's going to nail it over the right field fence...two pitches later he did.
When Clemens was initially a free agent he nixed the Yankees for the Blue Jays. And if you are bringing up Clemens being traded as a way to disregard his dissing the Yankees then the same can be said about Delgado since he also was a trade.
he got more money from the Marlins, thats why he went there!! hes glad to be in the big apple now!! Lets Go Mets Go..
Wagner is at his finest tonight!!!! Thats the Billy we love.. series is even going back to St. Louis.
I thought I remember the Mets money being the same or similiar to the Marlins. Anyway at his press conference when he signed he stated that he chose FLA because 1. he felt they had a better chance to going to the playoffs and he is closer to his home and enjoyed the culture that southern FLA offered.. Also personally I dont like him..
the Mets offered around the same money but Flordia doesnt take as much tax out or something so there deal was better!! boo cards... lol as a baseball fan in general, the umpire joyce was terrible for both teams tonight!!
Big win for the Cards. Man those bullpen arms are going to be sore for both teams by the time game 5 comes along.
I have no doubt this series is going 7 games and even though it's at Shea the game will be a toss up. I don't even know who will be the starters.
I think it will finish up in 6. Glavine should win tonight and in I dont think theyll be any stoping them :bnym: in NY. If it goes to game 7 I dont like the odds for the Mets and forget about it for whoever has to face Detroit after a seven game serious after their :bdet: sweep.
It may finish in 6 but not the way I want it. Hopefully, tomorrow night I'm at Shea with the Mets and Cards playing one game to get to the WS.
One game for the pennant. Suppan has the experience so it will be interesting. I am afraid of seeing Wagner on the mound tomorrow in a 1 run game.
is it just me, or are the tv breaks inbetween innings extremely long? One would figure they would be longer then regular season for ad revenue, but man, seems every time i switch to the game it's always in a commercial
He scares me dude. Why the hell he tries to throw sliders I will never know. Sure mix it in, but he was throwing 3 or 4 in a row. If he doesn't get the first batter they are in his dome. I hope he adjusts next year. What a great game you went to last night! I opened it at game one with a win, you just couldn't close it out for us huh?
I tip my cap to the :bnym: It was a GREAT series and one of the most nerve racking 7th games I've ever seen. When Chavez robbed Rolen, I thought that Chavez would come back the next inning and continue in the heroe's role. Suppan was able to mix up the speeds on him and retired him, for the 3rd out in the 6th, with a flyball. I know alot of you think the :bstl: don't have a chance vs :bdet: but that's fine with me. I think the :bstl: will make a series out of it and if the pitching is as strong as it has been in the post season, the :bstl: may win it all. Go ahead and start flaming Rob
I thought it was a great series between these two teams. Especially the Mets with hernandez and Martinez not being healthy. It will be a nice series to see the Tigers vs Cards..
