I feel ya xpress. I'm wondering is it too many turnovers or is the game going crazy trying to let people comeback and win?
Alright, I know I've been going crazy about this game so far, and I probably sound like a whiny 12 yr old boy right now. Thus, I feel the only way to further dive into my pool of lunacy is to post pictures from an... 'event' that happened just now in the game (I apologize for the white balance and pixel grid issues; I am admittedly not that skilled in taking pictures of an image on a television) The receiver on the left is running a crossing route, and this is right after I had thrown the ball (obviously). There's two backers playing zone, but seeing as how the closest one is 5 yards back and about 8 yards over, I didn't anticipate a problem. I knew it wouldn't be a huge gain, but I didn't think anything disastrous would happen, either. From my best guesstimates, the receiver is crossing at the 35 yd. line, while the backer is at the 40 yd. line. The ball in mid-flight. The receiver has moved about a yard or two, while the defender is still a fairly comfortable 5 yards back and 5 yards over. The ball 5 yards later (and about 5 yards from the receiver). The receiver is maybe a yard to the right of where he was in the previous 'frame', while the defender is starting to advance forward, showcasing impressive athleticism in being able to outaccelerate a receiver running at full speed and covering 3 yards in the time a bullet pass from an NFL quarterback takes to cover 10 yards. Quite impressive indeed, some might say superhuman. The LB is around the 38 yd. line right now. Ball about to be caught by someone. Note that the ball has traveled 3 yards, and the defender has advanced 3 yards as well. That's right, we now have a LB that has short-burst acceleration equal to a thrown pass! The inevitable outcome. I'm not sure how the defender got to this position, but I guess the receiver wasn't an obstacle.
yeah just considering the trajectory of the ball, positioning of players from both teams, it should have been A) A catch and quick tackle, B) Pass Interference. That is a perfect example of some BS right there. Good demo Xpress.
I'm comfortable with that....to a point. The final three pictures really sold it for me. I can definitely see your problem. Believe me I will certainly admit that the defense can be superhuman at times making this madden more of an "arcade style" one than previous titles. However I think it's a pretty decent improvement and I'll definitely think more of it when I have more time to play it and break it in. Still I'll continue to have trouble passing especially now in 08. Sorry you're frustrated man. Hope it all gets better from a madden perspective on your side. But look on the bright side....9-0 with USF on NCAA ??? Heck yes.
Thats awesome Xpress. I am glad you posted pictures, because I am having the same problems. Im sure you have had worse too, just like most of us. I mean, the defender is 5-10 yards away and they make that up in about 1 second every play...im tired of it. I guess we have to wait a few more years for some better football games. At least NCAA is better than Madden.
that's the beauty part , EA listens and I am willing to wager that in the 1st roster update there will be a patch to restore balance. Much like they did with the lack of fatigue in 07...
all my success in the passing game seems to be when i control the wr and use the big catch button. the reciever seem to fly to the ball when u learn to use this.
I was playing my franchise Week 1 vs the Chargers. Rex Grossman threw 6 INTs (very similar to the plays that Xpress posted pics of) and Benson finished the game with -9 rushing yards. I still somehow managed to win the game. Best part of the story: I was playing on Pro difficulty, lol.
The only time I had a problem with fumbling is when playing as the Giants but to be fair Brandon Jacobs had fumblitis towards the end of last season.
I played with a friend last night for 7 hours. We had 1 fumble. I guess it is only vs cpu and online. . . I'm guessing the INT's can be fixed by moving the CPU INT down. They'll probably patch the fumble thing soon.
21-38, 282 yards 1 TD 1 INT. Those were Rex's stats when the Bears defeated the Seahawks in last seasons playoffs.
That's one game Latdogg...granted that was a hell of a game. I knew my little jab at Sexy Rexy would get you fired up.
I think you hit nail right on the head... man.. If they can make it with that guy at QB.. Then they should be a dynasty waiting to happen.. Numbers dont lie.. The only thing that now stands in their way of a superbowl other than Rex.. is C.Benson's play.. can he step up..
after playing a few more games in my Dynasty on All Pro not All Madden , I have completely fallen in love with it. The balance is there but you have to look for it , the weapon system is amazing to get the matchups you want. This is the best Madden to date in my opinion , there are so many micro manager things to do while in game that you actually feel like you are in the game! total control and it is a blast! I don't get why they don't allow you to upload highlights though , in NCAA it's a cool addition that should have made it to the NFL version....
I still don't know yet. I made the switch to all-pro the other day and stopped right away. Opening kick-off of the game....fumble on the return. Next kickoff...watch i'll probably fumble...use the cover ball button and what's this? Another fumble! Not to mention the defense is beastly and the offense just picks me apart. But hey, at least there's always REAL people to play right?
I'm not going to say he is god awful, he has shown signs of greatness. He needs to do that on a consistant basis though. I think if he can do that than they will more than likely win a Super Bowl. This is his contract year so the ball is in his court. I know for a fact if he plays like garbage this season he will not be re-signed and the Bears will be in search of a new QB again! Maybe Brohm?
