Hey all. I saw yesterday lots of people having fun in GH III on my friends list and was coming to you guys for help. What's the best strategy to have in boss battles? Please, genuine help and no sarcastic answers like "don't miss any notes". I'm stuck on Slash and don't want to cheat on by so please let me know how I should go about getting by him. At first I thought holding onto the power ups would be the way to go, but then I got to thinking if you hold on to them for too long, his rock meter will fill in the green and you'd have to deplete 100%. When you start the song he starts in yellow, and you'd only have to deplete 50%. So I thought maybe going right after him immediately would be the way to go. But neither strategy has worked for me so far.
what level? i'm on medium. lost the first battle to him due to "death drain" at the end...what the heck is that? i was winning and then....boom! i lose. anyways, next time i just went right at him with attacks and won kind of quick.
Yeah, I play on medium the first time through. Easy is just plain dumb, hard is probably a notch above my skills. I must have played 10 times and couldn't get by, even going at him immediately. Power drain is the way they end the game if you take too long. I read somewhere in the instructions that head to head battles that go the entire length go into sudden death and you can get that power drain to kill your opponent quickly. The power drain against the computer is an automatic thing if the song goes on too long. Looking between the fret bars, there is the little skull that moves upward to show you how far into the song you have gone.
They are pretty easy if you follow this step. Make sure you get those attack notes, then watch the other guys screen, if you notice he's about to get some attack notes, use yours so he misses a bunch of notes. That way he can never attack you.
i did the samething tris did. i waited till had battle notes lined up and scrwed him over before he got them.
Finally got it on the third try. Frustrating that it seems so simple and then you mess up one note. I didn't even bother playing the song all the way through and just restarted. I'm finally getting to a level of songs that I don't recognize.
I'm nowhere near that good. I'm still playing it on level 2 out of 4, whatever that is. I always bypass the beginner level and jump in at level 2 to beat the game before hitting level 3.
on some songs... you just have to practice and practice and practice. on GH2 I got stuck on one song in the last set that would have unlocked freebird then I could have completed hard, i forget the name of it now. In GH3 i'm stuck on "Before I Forget" on Hard. Well, actually all the songs in that set. I've gotten to like 80% on th Disturbed song.
