I really wish the stickhandling was left alone. I can pull the Forsberg move but the goalie doesn't always bite on it, as it should be. Pumped for 5 on 5 and superstar mode. The issue I have with goalies is for scheduling reasons. First off you would need 2-3 goalies on each team, what if no goalie is available? or a goalie has to leave? Lag? Connection issues? Anything that would keep a goalie from playing would force a reschedule, no team would agree to play against a CPU goalie with a human. 5 on 5 can greatly eliminate the cheese because you can't burn it on the AI, you only have yourself to blame for not getting on the guy.
As much as I think adding goalies would add realism I am sad to say I have to agree with everyone else. 5 on 5 with a cpu goalie is the best way to go.
I have a few friends that consistantly have shutouts and 1 goal games. I used to feel the same way as you until I started playing with other people. I guy on our team actually keeps track of his shutouts. I beleive his tally was at 37 the other night. Great goalies are few and far between though and it shouldn't be required for someone to play goalie (league play). But if someone wants to try and there teamates agree to it, why not?

And being able to flick th puck up in the air INSTEAD of dumpin it WOW it looks good ... Wait ..... maybe this big feature is that they are fixing the ****ty online lag and players react as crisp as if you were offline.
i wonder what the big feature thats so hyped up is gunna be. they say its gunna change nhl EA massively?
my fav thing is defene lifting the stick off the ice... those one timers will be taken away a lot now cause of that
Did anyone else notice the "lob passes/clearings"? Could've just been the way the video was edited but I saw two for sure. The cherry pickers should love that feature.
As long as they make it so you can position yourself along the boards to block the clearing attempt or glove it down I don't see it being an issue, frankly if the other team has the puck and a forward is behind you thats bad defense (assuming things are 5 on 5) you only have yourself to blame.
Oh geez :roll: Honestly, I wasn't trying to add to the hundreds of "bad defense is your fault" topics that are here. :-& My point is, I can see a defenseman constantly lobbing it down ice and letting their forwards race to the puck for a "breakaway". I guess I shouldn't have used the term Cherry Pickers since that automatically labels me as someone who can't play defense or one who bitches about cherry pickers (I couldn't care less about people cherry picking).
