The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena

Has been announced as a remake of Escape from Butchers Bay for the old Xbox version. I don't know if anyone had the chance to play this but it was a phenomenal game and had a great story line. I still miss playing it to this day.

 

Yeah BB was one that flew under the radar. Definitely one of the best movie tie-in games ever.

 

Figure I'll piggie back on this thread....can someone tell me which movie is first in the series: Pitch Black or Chronicles? For some reason I think one was released before the other, and the second one is a prequel in the series.

 

Right, Pitch Black was released first but Chronicles of Riddick is the prequel.

 

Thanks Xeno...I picked them both up for cheap on HD DVD and never saw either. Now I can finally watch.

 

Chronicles was the sequel was it not? Because the woman, Jack, was the one who was bleeding and really a girl in Pitch Black. And he ran into the Priest in Chronicles who made it with him in Pitch Black.

 

Well dang, I guess I was wrong. Don't listen to me anymore Oltime, lol.

In any case Pitch Black is the better of the two films in my opinion so it's good you are watching that one first.

 

Definitely OTH, Pitch Black had a far smaller budget but its a vastly superior movie.

 

There is an anime which I believe is the prequel you are thinking about.

 

Anime....for Riddick? Are you sure you aren't thinking of the Animatrix?

 

Nope, it is called The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury. It actually takes place in between Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick. I have never seen it but it is supposed to be the bridge between the two movies. For some reason I was thinking it was a prequel.
