the demo will be out for free on Friday. there was an early release demo available on a NFL Films DVD. from what i read, the DVD demo was kind of old. this Friday's demo will be much closer to the release version.
You can nitpick at every single game ever made if you really wanted to, but I choose to enjoy the games that are available to me.
The same can be said for many a game. No game is made without flaws and that is a fact. My favorite game is College Hoops( a 2K Game), and that game has so many glitches and AI faults its plain absurd, but you dont here me crying about that.
I think I'm through paying retail on release date for EA sports games, as NASCAR 09 with all its problems (the profile freezing bug where you lose all your progress is especially abominable) has been the last straw for that. If it means I don't get it in time to participate in leagues, so be it. I know there's the old cliche saying of "same game with different rosters every year"; heck, I WISH that were the case, as EA could have simply kept the same engine and features of Madden 2005 (which IMO was the peak of the modern-era Madden franchise) and kept that through the next-gen era and things would have been fine.
I'm actually tired of hearing guys praise this NFL 2K5 game after all this time. Maybe it was the price that everybody really liked. What skill does it take to mash buttons in order to break tackles and sprint downfield? 2K5 was a good game and definitely had some nice plays, but it was too arcade for me. Madden has evolved IMO. People just don't like change. I don't like every thing about every game I play, but it doesn't stop me from playing good games. Madden is a good game and has been the best NFL football game out, way before it was the only NFL game out!
Collin Cowherd had a great opening hour talking about the energy it takes to make a choice and support one thing versus another. Its a funny and good listen. I dont have the energy to listen and respond to those 2k5 lovers who drawl on and on. I am with you Bx. Let it go for crying out loud. They are not making another 2k/NFL game anymore, anytime soon. 20 years has to account for something!!!!!
- Visually it looks amazing. This is where it should have been in 07. - Kind of short. - I don't care for the Madden IQ in the demo to be honest. - Pocket collapses way too fast. I hardly seem to have enough time to find one receiver before I get smoked. I read a patch will be released on the release date of the game to fix some issues.
i liked the demo. the iq test makes sense but is a tad long. the demo game was cool. i dont need a half hour to makea decision on passing. i only got 1 run in though and thats something i wanna see more of
im not crazy am i? but you arent able to play D in the demo. and i have never been a fan of how quick the pocket collapses in madden. even when you are the colts the most time you get is like 2-3 seconds. i mean come on. everyone knows that if you play as the colts you should get a minimum of 5 minutes before the pocket collapses.
I like the graphics, the field looks amazing. The IQ test was pretty pointless, but fun. I also noticed that there is no punting or kicking in the demo.
wow. To say "someone always gets kicked out of just about every game" is rediculous. I always play in near flawless team plays. Not many guys just randomly drop out when I play. NHL 08 has a great lasting effect as many guys who bought it in the opening week or two, still play it. It is a very fun game and keeps hockey fans playing it over and over. Every game has bugs or problems, get over it. My $60 was well worth it because I have been playing this game for near 11 months now and so have many others. But keep hating on the game while it just gets better and better every year, and while NHL 09 is set to blow the minds of every hockey gamer out there. Also the Madden demo I thought was pure trash. The IQ test was decently fun but was too long. When I finally got to the actual gameplay (final minute or so of the Super Bowl) I thought it was boring and offense was practically the same thing. I will NOT be purchasing Madden this year, (mainly because I think NCAA Football 09 is a great game and I will be playing that for a while, even if it has some major flaws), and also because Madden just won't entertain me or satisfy me the way it used to.
