this is a wii video, but just past the 4:30 minute mark there is fighting footage from the X360. you can see the LT and RT triggers on the screen which proves it's X360. fighting engine looks really cool and pretty realistic. http://www.gamespot.com/video/947639/6195432/nhl-2k9-video-preview-1
i think the game looks very good so far. cant wait to get my hands on it. i see the scoreboards are actually live, and it also looks like you could kinda do custom celebrations after you score maybe? anyways it looks very smooth this year.
From the artcile I promise you guys, this feature you are gonna love Man i wished all those 9 seasons of our NHL 2k league had saved replays on the web site. I can't wait to see what you guys post.
not to be nit picky or anything here.. but where do the players come out of? jsut wondering because there is no walkway behind the benches.. just the boards so they would have to go through the boards/glass to get to dressing rooms. i dunno this has always bugged me about the franchise
Tris, can you save replays of games you play against online opponents? UEFA allowed me to upload highlights as well, but it was only for offline play, which I rarely touched.
This game looks to have an arcade feel to it. The players look wierd when they skate, the goalies look like hunchback transformers and the sound effects are off to me. Im sure the game has alot of extras that NHL09 doesnt have, like the playoff beards and zamboni races, but as far as game play goes NHL09 blows it away IMO. I will pass on this game.
No, i havent played them. But from what i seen so far from both games, NHL09 seems to have a much better look and feel as far as gameplay goes. Dude, i know you are a 2k fan but at least admit the game looks arcady..lol The goalies look like hunchbacks and the players skate funny. They also went overboard with the sound affects i dont wanna keep hearing Clicking and clacking everytime someone touches the puck. Im sure the game has great addons that will make it enjoyable for some but def not for me.
All online games. And the way its done is very very smart. You won't have to worry about people pausing in the middle of a game to save a replay. MFTAK, did you just say NHL 08 was sim and NHL 2k was arcade ? lol Take it from people who've been playing both for years. Its a complete 180 swap when it comes to "sim"
2k9 looks pretty sick. Might have to pick up both game this year. Or get one for christmas maybe but thats to far away
would you say was or is? This used to be verrrry true. like i said to this statement. I used to be a 2k fanboy because it was sim and EA was craaaazy arcade style. But NHL 08 is very sim now in my opinion.
see this is difficult for me. the way they skate. yeah something is off. when they start skating at full speed they put one hand on the stick which is normal but look at the puck. its glued to the stick. doesnt move off the stick at all. now as far as the sound effects go. i love them. the crack the puck makes when you miss the goal and it hits the glass. the only thing i found odd was having those sound affects on in the outdoor game. its kind of weird watching the puck hit the snow and make a sound like it just hit a board. and then looks like its flying over the snow bank just to watch it stop mid air and have a sound affect like it hit the glass. but im sure that will be fixed before the game drops. i just dont think the whole skating issue would be fixed by the time it releases. still looks like a game i will be picking up.
