I heard mass effect was a good game (ive never played it, its not my type of game) but i really dont think its a number one.
I was alittle surprised Gears of War was ahead of COD4 i mean i lide Gears alot better but just seemed like alot more people played cod4
To be honest i dont know why COD4 should be that high. COD is a yearly franchise and it's single player showed. It didn't offer anything new and its shoter then Palin's forign policy experince. Its online really is fun, but the level up system isn't anything new. Where as GTA was a game that had double the develoement time, plus a much much larger world and much more dynamic game.
COD4 because it's the most played Live game (trading between Halo 3 for the top spot on Xbox Live). If they left it off, people would be screaming. While it's not revolutionary, they made a solid, reliable game with a very addicting level up system. GTA was fun, but the online modes didn't have a lot of replay for me. But in the end, these are just opinions by guys on IGN. If we all came up with a list, it'd likely be a lot different.
I think things that hurt CoD4, Bioshock, GTA IV, and even GoW is that they werent xbox exclusives. I cant believe that Halo 3 wasnt higher. Dont get me wrong, Im happy it wasnt but its still surprising. Im shocked at people saying CoD4 wasnt anything special. CoD4's single player (while short) was phenomenal. The story was extremely solid. Its like you were in a movie. It took the single player and the Multiplayer for FPS to a whole new level.
Mass Effect number one was somewhat shocking to me. However, I do know a lot of hardcore gamers love that game. I've personally never played it but from what I know it isn't extremely popular, compared to the likes of CoD4, Halo, Gears, and even Bioshock.
Mass Effect was an exellent game but i wouldnt have it has number one, and dead rising should be way higher then 10
