Wow bizzar way to get suspended. He made a comment about an ex who's now f*cking Phaneuf.... Its a like springer meets the NHL. Very uncool
lol........... there was an episode in tv, i forgot what program, but they featured avery. you know what he likes most? designer clothes and accessories for women. he said that if he's not a hockey player, he could see himself in this kind of business. and now this............ toooooo gay. i mean, what is that with his ex-gfs..... get over with it.... heheheh.
Might have been on The Hour. I like how a man is considered gay when he likes fashion and clothes. Quite a small minded world we live in eh?
i say it would of been punishment in itself to actually let him play. Phaneuph would tear his ass apart, then Iginla and no one on the Dallas team would bother to look twice, its just what he needs
I guess I can understand why he is angry...I mean Elisha Cuthbert is a total babe, and she isn't with him anymore...a good reason to cry, though luckily for him, there are millions of ladies who want to be trophy wives...
=====UPDATE===== Avery and the stars will be parting ways. Thats a load of BS. Hull let his personal friendship with Avery cloud his judgment. http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_y...XF7vLYF?slug=ap-stars-avery&prov=ap&type=lgns Hopefully this is the beginning of the end for avery in the NHL.
This really shows the difference in hockey to other sports. Look at what it took TO to get kicked out of Phi, and look what it took Avery to get kicked out of the stars. Although im glad to see Avery gone, I think he got a pretty hard punishment
6 games was harsh but the league isnt about to become like the NBA or NFL. The sideshows that go on in those leagues are crazy. Players can act like they run everything and the coaches, owners, and teammates let them. That doesnt fly in hockey. The coach wanted avery gone and the team wanted avery gone. Avery has made himself the most hated person in hockey. He couldnt have thought that he could continue what he was doing and NOT have it catch up to him.
I find it funny people are celebrating the fact that Avery got suspended for more games for some mean words when others actually injure other players and get less if not anything. It's what i call a lack of focus of what should actuially matter. It's okay in hockey to punch someone in the face; but say something mean = you are satan. What a twisted world we live in.
Fighting/punching is a part of hockey. Injuries happen, regardless of intent. There are so few "intentional" injuries as people like to say because you've only got a split second to stop while i guy turns his back to you before you hit him from behind, or if you throw an elbow up. The only intentional injuries are Bertuzzi/Moore and McSorely/Brashear, etc. These have no place in hockey. That being said, Avery's incident was off the ice, way too personal, and so premeditated that it's not even funny. I think the focus should be on this, because what hockey doesn't need is a sideshow of players running around saying whatever they want to. If the NHL didn't punish Avery, the precedent would then be set. Guys could get away with saying anything to anyone, on any topic. That's not the NHL I, nor anyone really wants. Punishing this jackass will hopefully put a stop to him and his antics, and put a stop to anyone who thought acting as such was acceptable behaviour.
