Tryouts / Signups will be posted this week, official tryouts will begin this upcoming week (Dec 31st / Jan 1st). — A lot of people are reading this section wrong so let me clarify. Tryouts will BEGIN Nee Years Eve, and run for 3 weeks until Jan 29th — PS4 CanAm will be OFFICIALLY starting Feb 4th. It will run through 2 weeks at 3 games a night. If game 25 is necessary it will be held Feb 18. PS4 full CanAm Rosters will be due Jan 29th. -Each team will consist 4 "active" lines, and 1 "reserve" line (including Goalies) The "reserve" line for each country will play January 30th to determine home ice advantage throughout the 25 game series. (These dates are subject to change). A few reasons we are pushing this back a bit, we want a full month to get rosters right. We also want this to be going on during bidding, and get as many views as possible. Gameplay & Series rules: - First Country to 13 games won, wins the series. - Each game will be an aggregate of 6 periods played. Meaning one game, is 2 physical games played added together. EXAMPLE: America outscores Canada 3-2 in periods 1-3, Canada outscores America 5-1 in periods 4-6, Canada wins the overall game 7-4 (combined scores). WHY WE DO THIS: Aggregate games usually allow enough time for the better team to win, you have 6 periods to properly attack a trap. It also makes a team become more aggressive. If the LG New York Rangers are running a trap for 4 periods straight, but down 4 goals in an aggregate, they're going to be forced to change their tempo if they care about winning. If OT is necessary: - A third game will be restarted if the score of Game B isn't tied. With first to score winning. - If Game B IS TIED, continue play. - If there are any questions about the score after 6 periods, go back and recollect / watch the stream. - All games will be club challenge / code matchups. Team Abbrievs MUST BE CAN and USA, as far as respective clubs, use what is available. Jerseys are pretty relaxed, we don't mind you using some creative jerseys as long as they represent your country (i.e. Tri-City Americans, etc.) - All LG In-game rules will be used, minus lagouts. if a lagout happens for ANY position, it is treated like a goalie lagout. Next whistle gameplay is ended. We'd like for there to be a mutual understanding that if there IS a lagout, and it's in the neutral zone, you flip it out and get the game ended asap. There may be situations where "but dude we were in the zone on a hot ass attack", that's fine. We don't want computers affecting gameplay is all At the conclusion of period 3, all active penalties will carry over to the new game based on the lag out, penalty carry-over rule (Any power play 45 seconds or more must be carried over into the next game, while any power play 44 seconds or less will be tossed out and does not have to be replicated.) - All players on ACTIVE lines must have a max of 6gp by game 24. Game 25 will allow a 7th gp for players (think game 7 of LG). - All games must be streamed, the year will be 2019, and 24 players will be in every game, figure it out. Teams will be given an 11 minute grace period, anytime thereafter teams have the right to take a 2 minute penalty for delay of game only if it’s proven the other team does not have 6 players searching. -The home team will host both games (period 1-3, and 4-6 plus overtime if necessary). The host swap only applies to the play in game to determine home ice. -Winning team will be responsible for all stats in game. A picture of the team stats page/boxscore/player summary is required to be taken in the event the EA API has an issue uploading stats at the conclusion of the game. Winning manager is responsible for inputting stats for the game. DEADLINES Away teams MUST submit lines by 6pm EST! Home teams MUST submit lines at 9pm EST! (The above rules were changed 2/4, and agreed to w/ reap.) For this tournament, if a team posts their lines late, they will forfeit their next matchup advantage. To further explain: no matter if you are home or away, if you post your lines late, the next time you have home ice advantage, the posting times will switch. So, say USA posts late lines. For their next night of home games, USA will post as if they are the away team and post lines 24 hours ahead of time. Canada will then have until 2 hours before the game to post their lines. With this rule, the physical host of the game does NOT change. USA retains host, they just give up their matchup advantage. This rule will be applied as often as need be for every late posting. You forfeit advantage as many times as you post late lines. Subs Teams are allowed a maximum of 2 subs per game. This is to avoid excessive line switching abuse in an attempt to take away match up advantage. That essentially means whatever line up you post, you can switch 2 of those players out at the time of the game for someone else on your roster as a "subbed player". This game counts as a game played for the player playing in the game and not the player that was subbed. The reason it is set up this way is because the away team has to post their lines 24 hours before the game. There is always a chance people can't make the games, so the 2 subs allow you to replace that player without a penalty. Any subbed player in game will result in 1 full game being played for the player being subbed, as well as the player who will be replacing your player in game. Fights Fighting is not tolerated and is not permitted in the tournament (goalies or skaters). The team that starts the fight will lose their line advantage. Lag-outs If a lag out occurs, the following procedure applies: play continues as normal until the NEXT WHISTLE. At this time, both teams quit out of the game. EVERYTHING that occurs between the lag out and that whistle counts (i.e. if a goal is scored). Note: If a goalie lags out it is that team's responsibility to force a whistle the next time they touch the puck (if said team takes a delay of game penalty by flipping the puck over the glass in the process of getting a whistle, THAT penalty will not be enforced). There is to be NO quitting out of the game mid-play. Upon restart of the game, time will be wound down to replicate the game situation (any leftover PP time from the lag out game must be accounted for in the new game) at the time the previous game was ended. The player that lagged out must take a penalty (if the goalie lagged out, any skater may be chosen to serve the penalty) at this time. Power-Play carry-over Any power play 45 seconds or more must be carried over into the second 3 periods, while any power play 44 seconds or less will be tossed out and does not have to be replicated. Host The host team hosts all 3 games in one night, then the other team will host the next night. Night one host is decided by reserve game for home ice. There will not be any line restrictions for this year’s CanAm (previously there were restrictions for ESHL teammates). START TIME: 9:00 pm EST, 10 pm EST & 11:00 pm EST *SHARP* All games start at 9, 10 & 11 pm EST SHARP - meaning both teams must be ready! If a team is not ready with 6 in the lobby searching by 11 after, the opposing managers are given the option to enforce a delay of game penalty for the team not ready. If a team is not ready by 20 after they MUST take 2 minor penalties to start the game (Managers are given the option to discuss this depending on the situation) If a team is not ready by 30 after they automatically forfeit the game + the forfeit game counts as 2 games played for everyone on the original line-up. (Managers are given the option to discuss this depending on the situation) ***Disclaimer: All rules and schedule are subject to change before the event has started*** I did alot of typing and copying / pasting, if you notice any errors or have any questions, please contact myself or Rico via PM or Discord.
