As you guys know, I work for 2k sports now and one of my jobs is improving the online leagues. I already have a long list of cool new features that i will add in time for NHL 2k9 but want to hear from you guys and see what you guys would really like to see or what we could add to improve 2ksports online leagues service. The floor is yours and we are listening.
I would like to see an option for just playoffs. Plus, an option for two on two league would be nice. Another idea is having two people control more than one team each. This way you could have a playoff tree that is the same as the NHL is in real life, and have two players control all the teams. Or something like, two players play in the playoffs, the other games get simmed. Round two starts and a human player can control the CPU team. This could go on until the finals.
Ya thats one thing that is a high prioirty for the league apps is to improve the front page when its playoff time. So i'm definitly going to put a high prioirty on that. Did you have anything specific in mind for this kidd?
for this thread, just the online leagues. If you have idea's for the game there is a thread above this one for that
It would be really neat to see some sort of auto generated playoff matchup. For example, in the regular season Pitt played Philly 8 times or whatever. Show some player stats for those games, and the team vs. team matchups statwise. Maybe have a hot/cold for players in the matchups. In regular season, you could also have stats for how players and teams have been doing in the past ten games or so. The scoring leaders needs to be cleaned and moved from: 1. Ovechkin 127 points 2. Malkin 111 points 3. Crosby 111 points. 4. Jagr 110 points. to 1. Ovechkin 127 points 2. Malkin 111 points 2. Crosby 111 points. 4. Jagr 110 points.
how about sorting the leagues for actual divisions.. and the ability to have the real nhl schedule or make each division play each other 4 times or whatever..
Admin options available during every tab on the website. This means being able to reset games from the schedule tab, etc.
Ok simple enough BTW didn't understand " 1. Ovechkin 127 points 2. Malkin 111 points 3. Crosby 111 points. 4. Jagr 110 points. to 1. Ovechkin 127 points 2. Malkin 111 points 2. Crosby 111 points. 4. Jagr 110 points."
Take a look at the shorthanded goal leaders at http://tsn.ca/nhl/statistics/ Then take a look at 2k's for goals against average http://online.2ksports.com/league/stats?p=360&t=NHL2K8&l=273540 2k always shows it that way when most main publications show it as the former. When players are tied, they should be tied in the standings as well, then the next guy takes the next available number based on the number of players ahead of them in the standings.
How about a trade finder online? They have this in the game and it works very well. Being able to compare players involved in the trade is key. How about having the ability to send mass invites to the league rather than a one-by-one basis? I am going to just continue to spam this thread when I think of something.
I don't know if there is a way for you to do this or not. When we use teams online in a league, like a historic team, can the admin be allowed to rename the players on the website?
The more stats the better, maybe hit an advanced button or something. Some people might not want to see them: Line Combination stats A review of a game that was previously played could have something like this for each team. This could also work for scouting future games with teams: Leafs Record2-1-1 Goals For (12th)2.0 Goals Against (2nd)2.0 Opponent Record (3rd)0.598 Total Shots (14th)102 Powerplay Goals (13th)1 Powerplay Percentage (5th)25.0% Shorthanded Goals (13th)0 Penalty Killing Percentage (3rd)100.0% Hits (15th)135 Overall Rank (13th)10.50 I also really enjoy production style of stats. Line production, player production etc.
Maybe something for playoff chase? There is a site out there that can calculate the odds of your team making the playoffs.
Ya those teams stats on the team page i love too. Really handy! expect to see those on in your team page
