A check in on the 10 most expensive forwards of season 7 - The 10 forwards who received the highest bids and are still in the CHL.

With the conclusion of week 3, we’re going to take a look back and see how the 10 most expensive forwards in bidding (who are still in the CHL) are doing.

    1) @o S m i i t t y ($7,500,000, RW, Rouyn Noranda Huskies)

    Week 1: 3-0-0, 15 G, 10 A, 25 P, +25

    Week 2: 2-0-1, 7 G, 13 A, 20 P, +11

    Week 3: 3-0-0, 6 G, 4 A, 10 P, +4

    TOTAL: 8-0-1, 28 G, 27 A, 55 P, +40

Worth the money: I mean, I guess he's alright.

Smiitty has been an absolute beast at the CHL level, as was expected. Even though he plays goalie on the Xbox side, he has 207 NHL games under his belt, and in 27 games as FWD in the LGCHL (season 27), he amassed 103 points. I expect him to finish with somewhere around 130 points.

    2) @zacktheman95 ($7,500,000, C, Moose Jaw Warriors)

    Week 1: 1-2-0, 1 G, 9 A, 10 P, -3

    Week 2: 2-0-0, 3 G, 1 A, 4 P, +3

    Week 3: N/A

    TOTAL: 3-2-0, 4 G, 10 A, 14 P, +/- 0

    Worth the money?: No.

Zack was fine through the first two weeks of season 7, posting almost 3 PPG. But he was TC’ed at the end of Week 1. He certainly wasn’t a bust, with 10 points in 3 games at that point, so why he was TC’ed I have no idea. Giving a player who only played defense before $7,500,000 is a risky price, and it wasn't the worst thing at first. With him on TC, this is a bust.

    3) @The_Falcon__ ($6,250,000, LW, Lethbridge Hurricanes)

    Week 1: 1-1-1, 2 G, 5 A, 7 P, -2

    Week 2: 2-0-0, 2 G, 3 A, 5 P, 0

    Week 3: 2-1-0, 8 G, 5 A, 13 P, +3

    TOTAL: 5-2-1, 12 G, 13 A, 25 P, +1

    Worth the money?: Yes.

Falcon was originally nabbed by Missisauga and after underperforming for 2 weeks was traded to Lethbridge. Talk about a change of scenery and a good move by @reggiecush88. Falcon played well in week 3, posting 13 points along with two wins. I’m projecting him to finish with around 80 points this season.

    4) @Undead_K94 ($6,000,000, C, Drummondville Voltigeurs)

    Week 1: 2-1-0, 3 G, 6 A, 9 P, +2

    Week 2: 1-2-0, 4 G, 3 A, 7 P, -2

    Week 3: 3-0-0, 5 G, 5 A, 10 P, +11

    TOTAL: 6-3-0, 12 G, 14 A, 26 P, +11

    Worth the money?: Yes.

Undead has had a solid campaign thus far, with almost 3 PPG, nothing to be upset about. There isn’t much to say as I’ve never really heard of him. I don’t picture him bouncing off the walls and becoming a top scorer, but I can see him finishing around 75 points.

    5) @THE_SHOE22 ($6,000,000, C, Kitchener Rangers)

    Week 1: 0-2-1, 3 G, 1 A, 4 P, -6

    Week 2: 2-0-0, 2 G, 2 A, 4 P, +2

    Week 3: 0-2-0, 2 G, 0 A, 2 P, -4

    TOTAL: 2-4-1, 7 G, 3 A, 10 P, -8

    Worth the money?: No.

Shoe was originally bid on by the Medicine Hat Tigers, and as much as I love @TFBMLegitz2 and @Mr_e_ous420, I don’t really know what they were thinking. Even though I was a TC, Shoe was on my WJ team, and from what I’ve seen from him, he’s skillful with the puck. Problem is that he can’t translate it to anything, and it’s shown in both season 6 and season 7 stats. At this point, I don’t see him hitting 50 points this season.

    6) @Bettercallsaul18 ($6,000,000, C, Sudbury Wolves)

    Week 1: 2-1-0, 1 G, 3 A, 4 P, +1

    Week 2: 2-0-1, 4 G, 2 A, 6 P, +4

    Week 3: 2-1-0, 2 G, 1 A, 3 P, 0

    TOTAL: 6-2-1, 7 G, 6 A, 13 P, +5

    Worth the money?: No.

Saul, at this point, doesn’t have the dominance to be a great first line forward, and his numbers from season 6 also weren’t too good. He shouldn’t be put up against top teams. This can be seen in his games against Peterborough, Hamilton, Windsor, and North Bay (who went 7-2 in week 3, thus why I call them a tough team), who are all good teams. Saul only put up 2 points combined. Saul could benefit if given some easier matches, because for now he’s not being efficient at all against top teams. I picture Saul finishing around 50 points.

    7) @Yeap_93 ($6,000,000, C, Windsor Spitfires)

    TOTAL: 8-1-0, 16 G, 25 A, 41 P, +29

    Worth the money?: Yes.

Not even gonna provide weekly stats because he’s so consistent. People questioned @Nyl x 29 ‘s bidding high on 3 players and leaving the rest will almost minimum contracts, and clearly he “silenced the haters.” Yeap is a great player on a great team, nuff said. He’s constantly a threat and is brutally consistent, I applaud anyone who can actually shut him down. I’m projecting him to finish around 110 points; if someone will give Smiitty a run for the points leader, it’ll be Yeap.

    8) @AMogilny_89 ($6,000,000, C, Rimouski Oceanic)

    Week 1: 0-3-0, 3 G, 2 A, 5 P, -9

    Week 2: 2-0-1, 0 G, 4 A, 4 P, +5

    Week 3: 0-3-0, 0 G, 1 A, 1 P, -14

    TOTAL: 2-6-1, 3 G, 7 P, 10 P, -18

    Worth the money?: No.

Mogilny was all you saw in the season 7 CHL shoutbox during bidding, and even though he was stuck on Flint for weeks 1-3, his production was abysmal. I won’t call him a bust (yet), but it’s on the verge. I’m projecting 45 points at the end of the season.

    9) @castles720 ($5,750,000, C, Ottawa 67s)

    Week 1: 3-0-0 , 9 G, 8 A, 17 P, +17

    Week 2: 0-2-0, 1 G, 0 A, 1 P, -4

    Week 3: 0-2-0, 1 G, 0 A, 1 P, -7

    TOTAL: 3-4-0, 11 G, 8 A, 19 P, -6

    Worth the money?: No.

Castles started the season red-hot, but as teams worked out their kinks post-week 1, he’s basically become nonexistent. Right now I wouldn’t give Ottawa a single dollar for him. He was traded from Halifax to Ottawa in the middle of week 3, and right now Ottawa is taking a massive L from it. I’ll guess ~50 points this season (if he’s not TCed).

    10) @Fo0o0G-19 ($5,750,000, RW, Windsor Spitfires)

    Week 1: 3-0-0, 9 G, 3 A, 12 P, +12

    Week 2: 2-1-0, 5 G, 9 A, 14 P, +6

    Week 3: 1-2-0, 5 G, 5 A, 10 P, 0

    TOTAL: 6-3-0, 19 G, 17 A, 36 P, +18

    Worth the money?: Yes.

Fo0o0G had a solid first two weeks but struggled in week 3, putting up 9 of his 10 points that week in one game. I’ve been hearing that he’s had chemistry issues, which explains his lower week 3 point production. If he can work out the chemistry (even if it means by trade), he’ll return to his normal form. Assuming this happens, I’m projecting him to finish around 95 points.

Really good post, I like how you projected our points
I definitely need to step up my game to hold up to the 6 mill contract, but I actually think I can do it,

hopefully there is a mid-season recap.
