A Scrubba Dub Dub: week 2 scrub hunter watch & team power ranking

Be very, very quiet. We're hunting scrub hunters here. With another week in the book the AHL seems to be shaking out in a very odd way. Some teams are flexing their muscles already while others have taken a steeper dive then stock brokers during the stock market crash. This really led to quite a bit of a shakeup in this weeks power rankings so let's take a look at that for starters.

A few teams dropped so fast it was almost blinding. The Gulls made the biggest drop falling from 3rd in Week 1 to 29th in Week 2 dropping a whopping 149 points. Manitoba, Milwaukee, Rochester, and Stockton all made pretty big falls too. Although one has to wonder how accurate Stockton's rating is seeing as how they've taken two forfeit wins this season already.

On the other side of the coin a few teams made some big jumps this week. Laval jumped from 28th to 5th. San Antonio and Springfield also made decent size jumps after both had excellent weeks. The most interesting changes were that Cleveland pulled themselves out of the dumpster from 31st to 22nd and Tucson from 30th to 19th.

As for the obvious facts, Hartford is really good staying in 1st both weeks and Iowa has already made it back to basically a Civil War era rating.

Now onto what you all really came here to see. At first, I thought I would be able to figure out a way to do this weekly and keep track of just that weeks stats but to be frank that's just way too much work. Instead, I'm just going to keep a cumulative tally for the whole season which means we need to re-vamp the guidelines. Same basic premise as last week, tweaked slightly.

1) Player must average more then 2 games week to qualify
2) Player has to win two-thirds of their games
3) Player must average a point per game or more

Surprisingly enough there were no repeat offenders from the Week 1 list. Here is the top 10 list out of the 98 eligible players:

I guess I am confused on the formula for the 'scrub hunting'.

I add up the ELO rating of each team that player played and then take the average rating.

Ex. Player A plays Iowa, Tucson and Cleveland. That would be 1868+1993+1975=5836. Then divide that by games played so for this example 3 and get 1945.

 

The only thing wrong is that number 8 should be promoted to number 1.With the quickness. Please edit

 

Pete check? But Ronny Dobbs making this list hurt. As well as torok since he's a teammate.

 

Please move Ronald to the front of the list purely for the sake of integrity.
