First off congratulations to @Barks l21l and @Clutch l28l on another cup going into the season as a 2/1 (+200) favorite. You guys put together a hell of team, again.


To start, my overall assessment of the rosters are, defense is key this year. The teams with the best value contracts will be the teams to look out for. Also there were teams with a lot of assets for send downs and call ups too. So with the right combinations of send downs, DP call ups, and value contracts, we could potentially see some really really dominant teams. With a lot of very very bad teams as well, if they didn't have any assets pre-bidding. Now lets get right into the odds!

Providence Bruins -105 (1/1)

After losing to Milwaukee last season our favorite clown show @RiCo505 and AHL staple @Moisty Poods return for another go and they bring in @Best in Ottawa who comes over from Bakersfield as their free contract. This team didn't have to do much in bidding besides troll everyone. With half their finals roster returning from S36 and @MrSilKyy tanking to get every draft pick imaginable they filled the rest of their roster with DP's and send downs.

Binghampton Devils +200 (2/1)

@Roubidoo comes back with his U|R linemate @El Donn Juan and they too bring back half of their roster from last season. In which they lost in the conference finals due to Roub going on vacation. This team is the favorite to win the broom cup this year for the usually competitive Eastern North Division. They are bringing up Vrana (@Kuzvechkinov) who dropped 116 pts and was a +92 in PSNAHL last year who I expect to be an all-star this year. The defense is cheap and really good, picking up @Larsbone at 2 mil is big. Then @Reaper iPM could be the best goalie in the AHL again this year.

Bakersfield Condors +300 (3/1)

@Jordo x 14 and @Drover2 come down and take over a very good S36 Bakersfield who shocked a lot of people as was one of the top teams in the west. They don't have the great @Malchesky anymore but they swapped him out by giving the bag to @NEEMMM. They get an unbelievable send down in @JuniorHawk16 who imo is one the best LW in the AHL. Their d core is nice and cheap and are very good (notice a pattern?). @Br0midas for 2.5 mil is a steal, the kid is a stud. They have a top AHL goalie in @WSH Holtby as well.

Hartford Wolfpack +300 (3/1)

@Clutch l28l fresh off a cup win leaves his bff @Barks l21l, finally... Then proceeds to bring in @Berube x 9 (Tsunami) who had success in the NHL, but wants to come down to wreck havok again. Tsunami should be one of the early favorites for MVP cause that's the type of player he is. Looking at this DP loaded roster, there's a lot to like here, @jpiss @Keenis VI IX & @CLiiNcH will be looked upon as key pieces for this team. They had a boat load of cap to spend in bidding but they were still able to get some nice contracts in @Guru x 26 and @Lowdss who also comes down from the N. Their defense is very sound with @AO l24l and @PointsForStyle leading the way. @TITO CLAPS switches off the center position to defense, where he is excellent. @Shotsy VI makes his long awaited return from the infamous cap ban on a send down. The kid will put up points.

Hershey Bears +400 (4/1)

Da Bears were taken over by @BLISDON, @The Skoden & @ChiSouthSiderr. This roster is built to win now, having two NHL 2nd line defensemen on free contracts is absolutely huge in the AHL this season. They were able to find some absolute steals all over the place. @ItsCosty, @Daguy (former nhl dman) & @Chunx all for 500k allowed this team to grab some of the top forwards on the bid board in @Gerbe x 42 & @xJLucas. The draft picks of @Goahl & @Broessler will man the podent 3rd line, both of which almost made the NHL squad. @Matthewpromanto is going to be a superstar in net with the defensive core in place. They get @iTalxnted (Showtime 14) as their send down who is the real deal, look for him to make a push for top scorer this season. @Og Dangs (DANGLES0N) makes his return after a few seasons seasons in the NHL. He comes back for a nice 3.5 mil dollar contract, he was a top 10 scorer in S34.

Henderson Silver Knights +400 (4/1)

It's too bad @l Reiders l is in the N now, otherwise we would see the return of the Triple R line that carried @CalderCubs14 to a Mem cup. So @RY0NN and @Reynoldsx24 take over the brand new Vegas affiliate and look to make a brand in the AHL for seasons to come. They pay up for another "R" in @l RISKTAKER l to make a new triple R line. This team's roster is deep and talented, getting @l Ceel 77 l and @iStazzi on defensive send downs is huge. It allowed them to go after some quality forwards in @Murphwizzle and & @silentsoljacuz4 (who is vastly underrated). @Ouellet I30I will be the guy in net this season and he has always been a top 10 goalie in the AHL. Getting @smroc11 (Corms) at 2.5 mil is an absolute joke, he did a great job of hiding and going to the team he wanted.

Belleville Senators +500 (5/1)

@l1l Sharp l0l and the Nova Scotian boys make their return after roster swapping again with San Diego this season. @Lebang 58 is the free contract again and they look to run it back after another disappointing season losing in the 2nd round as the odds on favorite again last year. This team always wins the regular season, but they seem to always peak too soon. Not sure what the remedy is for that, but anyway enough of the trolls lets look at the team. Defensively they look good again, @cabcavlax1 and @aCanadianGamer combined for 3 mil is excellent. This allowed them to spend big on @KnifeVet22 this season. However, his best season in the A he only went 15-8-3 with 72 points. I'm not sure that is worth 6.5 mil, but on this team it will be good. He will have all the talent in the world around him to help him produce. The goalies are solid and forward depth is a question mark though, but they have one of the best contracts in the AHL with @McPluggles. @l Bossy l x 22 and @Cizikas x 53 struggled together last season, they are betting they turn it around this year on 21.

Stockton Heat +500 (5/1)

This may come as a surprise listing this team up this high, but I really like what they did here. @Too Much Twoco and @Hayes x 13 are NHL studs coming down as free contracts and they filled out the roster nicely. They didn't over pay for anyone really and their core pieces are all good. Getting toxic @C4NADA at 4 mil in this bidding is awesome, hes been getting the brunt end of the stick recently by being stuck on bad teams (maybe that's his own doing). But @BigD Auditor at 2 mil is a big time steal, hes a better LD than he is forward. @DAV1S0N had a huge S36 going 18-7-2 +43 last year. This team was on the come up in S36, but now they are ready to win. Former face of the AHL @Mxckie makes his return and got paid (as he should), he will look to lead the charge this season and return as one of the top AHL forwards of all-time. The goalies are a question mark though which could decide the fate of this team come playoffs.

Tuscon Roadrunners +600 (6/1)

There's always one PS4 team in the league, and here it is. @jarrettszn brings over @Jaguarknight_ to take over for @DEC3PTIVE 1 who finally gives up the reigns and makes the jump to the NHL (thank god). No one wanted to play that trap. This team will be much different, the only thing those Tucson team struggled with was putting up points. This team will, led by @xBeef_Wellington (oo Monopoly) and @eFoduggz- who won the Calder on Milwaukee a couple seasons ago on PS4. 1v1 star @DangIe Nation built his xbox line with his running mate @X CANIAC12 X and they will one of the best 2nd lines in the league. Defensively, their top pair of @xfdmx kill and @Jaguarknight_ will carry the load and be one of the top pairs in the league. Their defensive depth will be a question mark.

Milwaukee Admirals +700 (7/1)

@Wooly x 33 and @Chicago Liights reunited at last, this time at the AHL level, uh oh... They were one of the best 3rd lines in the NHL a couple seasons ago. This team has a legit top forward line and can go toe to toe with anyone in the AHL. They also have some nice returning pieces from the recent Mem cup team like @NewMapleLeafs and @MARTINEZ2619, the latter is coming off a breakout season. The defense on this team is league average however, but they don't have a legit top d pair. They are looking at @Draikez 14 and @STL TopShelf to take a leap forward and be the top pair on this squad. I think this team will have to make some moves on the backend to really contend. But regardless, this is a playoff team in this division. Look for the draft picks to make some noise here in @KF x StoNaMi, @quatch02 and @Knightyear.

Here come the 3s stars, @Travy xX and @I Kessel x 81 l bring in their boys @Tolerant and @IM So RaW x to fly around the ice. This is one of the deepest teams forward wise, @Ennis x 63 is a sneaky good pick up as well as @xI STR8iNK Ix. If you want scoring, it will be here with this team. There are a lot of cheap dmen on this roster that could be boom or bust. I really like @Nightmare xX at 1.5 mil, he has a chance to be one of the top dmen in the league, but with this team I don't see a true game 7 d-pair. Someone will have to step up. @TRMC BIGMAC will be the guy here in net and he is supposed to be really good from what I hear.

Rockford Icehogs +900 (9/1)

Well @Josh55777 switches from Hartford to Rockford, and swaps @Mike Shea 19 with @lVlaT as the free contract. Which seemed to be the right move as Mike only went for 2 mil this bidding (which is a steal). This team is flying very under the radar, getting @Sty l27l at 4.25 is very nice especially in this bidding where true top line centers were going for 5-8 mil. The defense is very solid and deep, I'm not sure if they have a true #1 dpair but I think @MickyDangles (who has the best contract on the team) and @Truuth o will be the guys by the time playoff come. The goaltending duo of @GregxWhite and @immortalbmw might be the best in the league, so add on top of good defense they have excellent goaltending. This will be the team that grinds out 2-1. 3-2 wins consistently.

San Diego Gulls +1000 (10/1)

Mastermind @Boogie x6 or Billy Beane used advanced analytics to build his team. It shows, his team is very good. @PigsOnJupiter is an AHL staple and always on playoff teams, this will be no different. The highlight of this team is the depth, getting @Edgarnormous and @I F3ROCIOUS I as send downs will only help this squad make a playoff push. They paid a lot for defense, and why not, they have excellent value at forward with @X Cross x11 and @Turtle x 53 on league minimum deals. People are saying @BaskutKayz is overpaid, well probably... But he is a top LD in the AHL this year and I think he is a fantastic player. Getting in a bidding war for @DAM and then not having the cap for him is a blackeye on this team however. That money could have been used to find a top line forward. Regardless, this team is still good and should be a playoff squad.

Manitoba Moose +1200 (12/1)

@Neil x 25 comes back down from NHL 3rd line hell and @x88x Kane stays from last season to continue to Meese tradition of resigning @Black Paperclip and @kdevv, who have been there for a full year now. This team looks solid on paper, but this could be one of the most toxic teams and if anything goes wrong it could go severely downhill. @v88x (RyanxSavage) comes back up from managing in the CHL, and could be in for a breakout year especially if @Breckeeezy is on his line who comes in at a lovely 1.25 mil. They are one of the few teams with a legit game 7 lineup, but the overall depth is in question. @AgnosticClaw388 can get hot and take over games, I love that pick up. This team will need to make a few moves on the backend to contend, but they should be a playoff team as currently constructed.

Lehigh Valley Phantoms +1400 (14/1)

This was one of the teams I kept my eye on pre-bidding and during bidding, they had most of their roster returning and brought in @Studz x 7 as a free contract and @Go Bar South23 as his center in a preseason trade. They had a ton of potential, now after bidding and send downs are over, I'm a tad disappointed. With missing out on the big name forwards, they pivoted to a top line d-pair in @vGrxmpy for almost 7 mil (big overpayment) and @Spacelessbark for 4 mil which is about the right number for him. This is a playoff team, don't get me wrong. It's just I was expecting them to be a lot better than currently constructed. @JustTheGod comes down as the send down bid, which is kind of meh, they could have probably got him for 1-2 mil in AHL bidding. @TheGreech switches back to tendy in which he is a star. @WoodyH24 was a top 5 pick last season, where he was in a horrible situation on @Sejje's horrible NHL team. I think he will really shine this season in the AHL.

Palm Springs Firebirds +1700 (17/1)

The S36 Cuda swap with the Firebirds, but it's almost the same team. They disappointed and missed the playoffs last season but this season I think was a fluke. @MBell91 brings in @Suzuki I14I for his free contract who is a excellent player. Their core of 1st round draft picks from last season consisting of @xT S P 0 0 N, @Lagrange x 91, and @COUG4R HUNTER will be looking to take another step forward in their development. I think this year they will really show why they were drafted that high. They went and got @Lividpenguin936 (Ezreal) in bidding and they might have overpaid for him but he is their guy so I don't hate it at all. The @Notorious0ne617 is coming off a "down" season where in S35 he was nominated as one of the best goalies in the AHL. I believe he will come back to form and be their true #1 starter in net. This is a playoff squad on paper, but they were last season so we will see...

Grand Rapids Griffins +2000 (20/1)

Another face of the AHL @CalderCubs14 returns with his S35 cup winning squad with @MetalGhost0 , they still have a couple pieces from that team in @N1ghthors3 and @BADxLARRY but it's a different team. This is a weird team, they have some really good contracts as well as some really really bad ones especially on defense with @Saquon and @Retnuh23 for a combined 6.75 mil, yikes. Hopefully having one of the Eddie Shore favorites @Homiezoned will help things. Also Getting @CoreyPerry1 for 500k is kind of crazy even if he is a HUT lord, he still is a phenomenal player. Getting reigning superstar cup champ tendy @recyclebinhero in a send down always nice and can legit carry a team. This team has potential if they make the right moves down the line to become a contender, but as currently constructed they are a bottom half playoff team.

Colorado Eagles +2000 (20/1)

I feel like @Smitterr has been here for years, but this time he brings in @MingesaurusRex as his free contract who comes down from the NHL after a season off. The Newfie boys of @SpruceMoose91 & @Drake0807 continue to man their 3rd line with @OneDollarDrxper up the middle. They will be one of the better 3rd lines in the league. The question comes with the top line, @Meestah Don & @MingesaurusRex with most likely @Soxfan7744 doesnt necessarily scare a lot of people. @TIN045 at 5 mil seems like an overpayment for him, but it could work if he has help around him. This team struggled last year, which is unlike the smitter teams in the past. I think they rebound nicely, but will they contend for a cup? I'm not sold on that yet, they will probably have make a few deals for more firepower. Defensively they are very sound, @Salty x 27 got a bag this season for not playing the past couple years. They have a couple draft picks for the 3rd line pair in @xI V i T a L and @Islander112286 who look to make the jump to the AHL.

Ontario Reign +2500 (25/1)

@Playhboi makes his return to the AHL after a season off from the disaster that was Texas S35. However this time @Williams x12x doesn't take the free contract, instead it's @Carlson74x who is know as a solid PS4 player. I'm not sure if he warrants a free contract, but in terms of building teams they actually did a good job. I love the pickup of @Lauxey at 500k, he is a stud. They actually have one of the better defensive cores in the league, getting @DaSteelerz, @mashle93 and @TheMainEvent for very fair prices in this defensive market is excellent. @jackD00P gets paid and rightly so, he has always been a solid NHL RW. He hasn't played a full season since S33, so we will see how it goes.

I'm not going to get into the alleged tampering of a @l SaIty I, but he got banned and @DeIosh was left scambling for a GM. @Belial I19I comes in and looks to redeem himself from a mediocre season to his standard. They are backed by the great @JClaus33 so they will have some diamonds in the rough here. There were able to get @Gimme a Brewski and @l l J ROCK l l7 in send downs and that allowed them to spend up on @TheKingDaddyx and @dooglare. The D core is sneaky good with @x Pete Jones and @l l J ROCK l l7 leading with way along with @DeIosh. There is a lot cap allocated to goalie too in @Doc_Peep and @TripAcez who will be a top 5 duo in the league.

Laval Rocket +3000 (30/1)

@xl NiTeOwL lx and the boys come back for Laval, this team is not looking very good on paper. These guys no how to manage and build lines so I expect them to be competitive in games. They went and traded for @theFiGS42 who is coming off a good season. They get @ClavyShow as a send down at 500k who carried the 3rd line in San Diego last season. Defensively, @KaberIe at 500k is a big time steal, he will thrive there at that price. They didn't overpay for defense like some other teams. Having @lCR0SSCHECKl (Grape) on a free contract helps a lot. They were able to spend up on forward with @J a IMI e S x22 and @Chainer AM who should help solidify the first line. There is potential here, but the free contracts have to perform at a 1st line level. Goalies are solid as well, above league average.

Iowa Wild +3000 (30/1)

@REX9277 takes over Iowa with @Colonel20, REX is an excellent dman but he is making the switch to center which is questionable on a free contract, he is almost a 4th forward on defense I think it will be fine.. Then Colonel switches to RD from RW and I'm sure he will excel there. Colonel helped build those very good Toronto teams before Broomball took them over and they have done a good job in finding some nice pieces. They were able to get former Eddie Shore Candidate @BladezTML in a 2 mil send down to shore up the defense. But other than him and Colonel, their defense is league average. @Czap17 will be in net as their starter, who is very good. The forward depth is good however led by @R4ph Th3 G4m3r and @Fedxrov who is always overpaid because of his name. This team needs to make some moves to contend however, the defensive depth just isn't going to cut it this season.

Rochester Americans +4000 (40/1)

@Draward x 97 comes back and brings in @killamilla6 who was a good AHL dman for a long time. I like this make up of this team, however it is reliant on the young guns and draft picks to make playoff push. They surprised a lot of people and fielded a competitive team. Almost made the broom cup! Overall, this roster is solid. @T 1 v Z has quietly been very good for them at 750k, went 17-9-1 with 54 points last season. @Stutzle l is the big call up here where he went 13th overall, he looks to make the leap and replicate that 107 point performance in the C last season. They spent some coin on @NJSki711 for 6 mil, that may be an overpay but when you have so many cheap contracts you have to spend your money somewhere and why not spend it on a top forward. Defensively they are league average, some of the new guys will have to step up.

35 pt @Broomball16 comes back for another season of wasted free contracts to build what actually looks like a somwhat competitive team. Paying @Patmo x 16 9 mil is probably the worst contract in bidding, but they had money to spend with all his CHL stars. I love the @xTrav89 pick up, he is a stud. Maybe a tad over paid, but he will be a nice piece to this team. @FerDaHD is one of the best contracts in the AHL. The forward core is solid, but the d core is not nearly as good as it was last season. When @GK KING207 is you best dmen you are in trouble. This team needs to make a lot of moves to turn into a contender, but this was not Broomball's best bidding and even he will admit that. The broom cup looks out of reach for this squad early. However, the AHL thanks you for bringing @Schwifty7 so we can get more of that beautiful media.

@McQxade and @Ahmbience return but the latter goes into bidding and they bring in @Jumps x 42 as the free contract. They surprised a lot of people and made the playoffs when they were on Palm Springs. This current team doesn't have as much talent as last seasons. I do like the @Fatal I72I pick up, and I think he will make the jump to forward quite seamlessly. Getting @Some Pylon at 2 mil is an absolute steal, and helped them go hard after @Berulev for 6.5 mil on forward. The Cuda could swing either way this season, they will be either very solid or an absolute dumpster fire if things don't go well right off the rip. Their goaltending pair of @Rysky88 and @Berserrkr is below league average and could be a problem. @Wzia will have to perform here playing with @Jumps x 42 for this team to make noise.

You can thank Broomball for ranking the Checkers this low. He outbid them for @Patmo x 16 and the team was left scrambling as he was the last big contract to go. This QC team is going to be struggling all season long, the defensive core is not great. The forwards are below league average, with @ChelCat08 and @Thibodeau I96I being the highlights. Their plan was to build that dominant Brandon Wheat Kings team a few seasons ago, and they did, but this is the AHL. However, they have some nice cheap forwards to work with and @HateCreation95 is a very good player on defense and is worth the free contract.

@xLTD23x and his buddy @xDemon12x take over the Crunch and they have an uphill battle ahead of them. They have some nice pieces to build around but this roster will be a revolving door until the trade deadline. @Eamonn on a 3.5 mil contract is good place to start. They spent most of their cap on the defense with @ScheckDiesel, @RyBish33 & @Jarvis x 96 so they backed should be solid. But looking at the forward core, it's not looking too promising other than @Eamonn. @Drouin XCII at 500k is a nice contract, but he's a 2nd/3rd line winger. They are lacking true 1st line forward talent and they will most likely miss the playoffs unless they find someone to help @Eamonn out. @JeFfBdR31 is a stud in the pipes, if they are going to win games it will be because of Jeff and the d core.

This forward core is average, but they have some nice pieces there with @I SNero I and @Dangle53 on very good contracts. The defense is a tad below league average other than their guy @Cavy l53l who was the most expensive LD on the board. These tigers will most likely be hovering around .500 all season. I'm not sure what the plan is here to improve the core but there will have be some moves made. They do have one of the best goalies in the AHL in Holta, where he should be able to give them a few wins on his own.

I thought this team would be a lot better once they went out and got @GreasyReesey- for 7.5 mil, other than him, this forward core is below league average. They are banking on @ViNNY x 53 and @Ix Mazy xI to make a leap at forward. @Big Wet May and @YoungBuffalo88 are good d men and probably worth the free contracts. But with all that cap relief on defense, They didn't really get anyone to compliment @GreasyReesey-, they had 4.5 mil left over bidding, which means they must have missed on someone. I'm sure a couple trades could fix things, but it better be quick. You do not want to be in a whole off the bat. Defensively they are solid, @KEAPPS could be a steal there at 3.25 mil and the goaltending is league average.

Well, this is another team that had management controversy preseason with Zinc not being approve when he was a manager the season prior. Instead @vMvtt joins @tranqzz and the team this season is a lot to be desired for. The defensive core of @DAM, @Globes and @StarfieIds is league average. The forward core is filled with a bunch of 2nd liners. I do not see a true top line here, they overpaid for @Yetdi, who i'm not sure will be the 80 point guy they are looking for there. @Mr4Freeze & @JxHaTch24x come in and are expected to be their top forwards switching off defense last season. I think this team will struggle to make the broom cup playoffs this season.

So @At43 brings his esports team to the AHL and this is one of the worst constructed rosters after bidding. They have one line and then @im just a squid for offense. The 3rd line of @Ebol (AT's brother) and @PotHeadDegree will struggle to win any games this season. The defense is not very good, @Carnage7448 is their top defender at 4.25 mil which he has been a career 2nd/3rd line AHL dman. They expect @TrapLord847 to be a guy that steps up to be a top dman. The goalies are solid in @hgSparty and @Darth Sniper II, but that won't be enough to help them unfortunately.

This team really has no one on roster that screams oooh's and ahhs other than maybe @Nyquist x 12 who is on a very nice contract. Let's see if he actually sticks around, my guess is he's gone by week 3.
