This means no more wild card for the AHL, just divisional match-ups during playoffs. I did research and this is the information about the playoff format and it's structure for the AHL's 2016-17 season, in real life. Disclaimer: As we all know, LG tries its best to mimic each leagues' rules to their fullest; but some rules, like a 5 game playoff series in the 1st round, don't make sense for scheduling limits.
