An update on Deathstwr99

After finally getting as much information as possible over this past week, I felt it an actually post was to be made to properly update the community on his current status. Late last week, Death was involved in a head on collision with a semi-truck hauling two pieces of heavy equipment. The car was severely damaged and this resulted in him breaking both of his legs and his collarbone, but somehow he remained conscious after the crash. He was then transported to the hospital where he was taken into care. From there he began to have surgery to fix some of the injuries, when he had a stroke during surgery and had to be placed in a medically induced coma. He is still breathing and while he wasn't looking like he was gonna make it, he has since taken a step in the right direction and his condition is starting to improve. Between Rehabbing and Recovery, he is expected to be in the hospital for at least a year.

Like or Hate Death, he was someone who had done management at all levels of the LG hockey community (Granted not well at certain levels but that besides the point). This guy was someone who did care about the community a lot and while his humor and talking points would be weird at times, he was a great party presence and overall a very good person. In talking with his family though his real life friends, they dont want a gofundme set up as thankfully for Canadian healthcare is picking up most of the costs. I just wanted to update the community on what had happened to one of its members. All we can do now is hope that he continues to make progress in the right direction and that one day he will be out of the hospital and being back to his old normal self. Thank you for your time and lets all hope that this recovery is a smooth and speedy one.

On the surface LG can be a cruel and unforgiving place. But beneath that cold exterior lies a soft and warm interior. The one thing I know is as much shit as we all give each other on the daily when something or someone outside our community threatens one of us we all have that persons back. I can honestly speak from experience as I lived it and I have seen it too many times to count. This is a strong caring community. When you return Death were all gonna be here waiting and welcoming you back ready to jab you just like we do all the other guys. Work hard and don't quit on your recovery. This dog shit series of a game will be here when you return.

Death always had me laughing. Sad circumstance to a good guy. Sending prayers and my best wishes to him. Hope he recovers soon!

 

I miss shit talking him in the chatbox. Outside of the CB, I don’t know him well, but nothing but the best wishes on making a full recovery and getting back in the swing of things. Keep us updated.
