ESHL S14 - The Kings Coast Cup - Event 1

We are excited to announce a new partnership with the guys at Kings Coast & Rare Drop Sports to bring you guys a new type of esports events based on your feedback, and announce a couple new features to better support the NHL esports ecosystem!

    Rulebook
    https://www.leaguegaming.com/esports/Kings_Coast_Cup_Rulebook.pdf

New Universal ESHL Leaderboard - Team Divisions
One of the most requested features asked is a universal leaderboard that spans the 6v6 events and puts the teams into divisions based on their success. We will be launching such a system next week and break the teams into these divisions
    • ESHL Division 1 - Top 8 Teams
    • ESHL Division 2 - Teams 9-16
    • ESHL Division 3 - Teams 17-32
    • ESHL Division 4 - Teams 33-64
    • ESHL Division Open - Every other or new team
The divisions are calculated from results from both CapsGaming Seasons, Sharks Pacific Cup, CBJ Winter Cup, and ESHL Space Esports events. We will have more about this next week once Caps is complete!

    3 Events - New Format
We are proud to announce the guys from Kings Coast have committed to a minimum of 3 tournaments with an option of more events throughout the year.

    The events will be
    • ESHL S14 - The Kings Coast Cup - Event 1 - $2,000 USD March 17th - April 14th.
    • ESHL S15 - The Kings Coast Cup - Event 2 - $2,000 USD Dates TBA
    • ESHL S16 - The Kings Coast Cup - Event 3 - $2,000 USD Dates TBA
    • Options for Events 4-*
A lot of player feedback is to make events shorter or have a shorter regular season and that's exactly what we have done here with this format, here's how it will work

    World Cup Style Tournaments
    • All events are free to play (ie, no buy-in)
    • Each "Event" is capped at 64 teams.
    • Events will have 1 week of a regular-season *7 games), followed by 5 rounds of playoffs (BO5)
    • Events run just under 1 month each.
    • How to Qualify for an event
      • To get the 64 teams, if you finished in the top 32 of either Sharks or Caps Season 2 and signup, you auto qualify.
      • If you make top 32 of "ESHL S14 - The Kings Coast Cup - Event 1", you qualify for "ESHL S15 - The Kings Coast Cup - Event 2" (and so on)
      • After event 1, any team in division 1 & 2 auto qualify
      • If you don't meet any of these conditions, you must qualify via online qualifiers. There will be 2 qualifiers for ESHL S14 - The Kings Coast Cup - Event 1, they are
        • March 18th Thursday
        • March 19th Friday
        • We will post exact rules about how far in the qualifiers you need to go to qualify, as we won't know those numbers until we know team signups.
    • The events will be very much like a "World cup" style, There will be 8 "Groups" of 8 teams. The regular season is just 2 nights where you play everyone in your group once (7 games)
    • The top 4 teams from each of the 8 groups will then advance into a 32 team playoff bracket
    • The teams from ESHL Division 1 & ESHL Division 2 will be spread out into the 8 groups. The rest will be randomly placed into the groups
    • Each "Event" has a $2,000 USD prize.

    ESHL S14 - The Kings Coast Cup - Event 1 - INFORMATION

    Roster Limits/Deadline
    • Rosters are capped at 9 players max
    • Rosters are locked on Thursday, March 18th at 11:59:59 AM ET.
      • This means that you are not eligible to change rosters after this date.
    Qualifier Procedure
    • Teams that place Top 16 in the ESHL Leaderboard will auto-qualify.
    • Teams from the Top 32 Sharks Pacific Cup and Round of 32 CapsGaming Showcase S2 will auto-qualify.
    • Once team signups are final, we will determine the number of teams needed to qualify from the remaining teams left over.
    • Qualifiers will be in a bracket-style format on the dates listed above.
    Playoff Procedure

The Top 4 seeds from each division will make the playoffs. All matchups will be randomized, and teams will not play someone within their division from the regular season.
There will be 16 unique matchups in Round 1:
    • All 8 1-seeds will be matched up against all 8 4-seeds.
    • All 8 2-seeds will be matched up against all 8 3-seeds.
There will be 8 unique matchups in Round 2:
    • Matchups will be the highest seeds remaining against the lowest seeds remaining.
    • For example: If 6 1-seeds advance and 2 4-seeds advance, there will be 2 1-seed vs 2 4-seed matchups and then, the remaining 1-seeds will play any 3-seeds if they advanced, or 2-seeds.
There will be 4 unique matchups in Round 3:
    • Similar to Round 2, matchups will be the highest seeds remaining against the lowest seeds remaining.
There will be 2 unique matchups in Round 4:
    • The remaining top-seeds will play the remaining low-seeds (randomized from the group left).
There will be 1 unique matchup in the Finals:
    • The highest seed remaining will be designated as the Home Team.

    Server Selection Procedure
If the matchup consists of players from NA-East or NA-Northeast vs NA-Central, the following will occur:
    • The away team will veto one of those three servers
    • The home team will then choose from the remaining two server veto options
If the matchup consists of players from NA-East, NA-Northeast, or NA-Central vs NA-West, the following will occur:
    • The game will be placed on the predetermined NA-South Central server by default.
    • For this to occur, a minimum of six players must be present in the team lineups from the team that has West Coast players.
If the matchup consists of players from NA-East, NA-Northeast, or NA-Central vs NA-Northwest, the following will occur:
    • The game will be placed on the predetermined NA-Northeast server by default.
    • For this to occur, a minimum of six players must be present in the team lineups from the team that has West Coast players.
If the matchup consists of players from NA-West vs NA-Northwest, the following will occur:
    • The team that is Home will have the option to pick the server based on a better average distance.

    Tie-Breaker Procedure

Tiebreakers for the standings and playoffs will be determined based on the following:
    • Divisional Placement
    • Total Points
    • Total Wins
    • Total Reg Wins
    • Total GA
    • Total GD
    • Total GF
    • Team ESHL Ranking (Overall Standings)
    ESHL Leaderboard

@Tris10 will have more information on this in the coming day.

can you sign up for just one event, say, event 1, and then not sign up for event 2? Friday's will become an issue for me beginning in May so event one i'm fine but event 2 and maybe 3 i'm limited on availability.
