You can force someone to scout for multiple owners, but you can't force them to play well in those games. At least with the GT changes, we can help curb that problem by publishing past GTs alongside current ones. Even if we don't get them all, any is better than none. But this? I can't even imagine how you'd counter this.
IF your'e management and are trying to build a good team. 1- Scout 2- see a stud in scouting, ask them if they want to play for you ( answer is yes ) tell them stop scouting. 3- Player does not care where he plays so he keeps scouting ( take the hint, he dont want to play for you ). 4- He stops scouting and you did your good. ^ only doing your job, hence this thread just needs to be deleted.
The sad part is in terms of relevance it has now fallen behind the poll on whether or not to have more polls.
Lol I told 1 player not to scout and I was just fucking with him but ok thanks for calling me out you rock!!!!!
record all scouting games and make them available to management only, personally I don't think it is too much to ask for players to play in at least 2 scouting games, holidays or not if a player can't take a couple of hours outta their busy holiday schedule then where are they going to find time to play in this league? as for the implications that this is a "vhl" thing, I call bullshit on that. i have heard way too much of that crap! let's all move forward!
No one likes a tattle tale tino. Remember what Biggie always said; snitches gets stitches and everyone likes cake
Really don't see a problem with telling people to not scout. It's the players choice in the end. But I would probably not even run scouting games if you wouldn't be able to end up getting a gem for cheap. I like jakeypoobear's "treasure" post. Basically sums it up. You don't find a gem and leave it there for the next guy. It would be too time consuming for management to run scouting, and then end up getting none of those gems for cheap.
If you are a good owner you should know who someone is even if they didn't scout. In my 5 seasons as owner over at the vhl, I've held like 10 scouting total. Out of those 10 scouting games I've only drafted/bid on 5ish players. None of those guys made my NHL roster. We have the best ownership group I've ever seen. Players deciding not to scout will not allow them to fly under the radar
It's not irony, it's the entire point. See Jay Ayotte's post that pretty much sums this issue up. And, yea this forum is on the internet, thanks. And the assumptions, hyperbole, overreaction, and whatever started right at the beginning of the thread. Yargage has a pretty good point with his post too.
Actually what you wrote(and didn't carry over in the quote), there is. Can't blame BeRoose, because you can't see it.
A more appropriate quote (and one that I was waiting for) is: "One of these things is not like the other"
