Community Building Idea

Today marks the anniversary of the beginning of LG, and it made me think about the current state of LG. I, for one, have noticed an increase in toxicity within the league community. This change in attitude among the community has led multiple players to explore other leagues, retire, and/or begrudgingly return to LG. Heck they even added a toxic emoji to the SB I don't think that's coincidence. So I got to thinking what could be done to help rebuild relations between the people within the league.

My idea is to create a user submitted Faces of LG twitter feed or facebook page. The feed would be dedicated to user submitted player profiles within the LG community. Each profile would highlight some of the users LG accomplishments, and could have a section for interesting personal information that the user may wish to share with the community. Obviously there could be concern about this being used to fuel player bashing. However, that is the attitude this is idea would be created to combat. The idea is to change the atmosphere from a sometimes hateful and trolling environment to a tighter environment where users are seen as people and not just a username.


Which leads us to the poll question.

 

Good idea, but the community is toxic, so could be harmful. also noob.

 

I want to create the flip side of this poll and see how many of the evil muthaeffers in here would love this idea if it was created simply to bash each other.

We know most of the trolls already. 1 bad apple spoils the whole batch and we have some very toxic apples. I think the concept is good but the execution could be detrimental to the rest of the community

 

They give known toxic members teams, so yeah rip

 

Could you imagine someone that no one likes posting pictures of themselves and revealing their real life to the hostile environment we call the shoutbox? some would call that comedy gold, others would call it potential suicide.

 

LG should working on gender equality, then we can have a LG Tinder League.
