Crunch VS Pack Primer

Heavy is the head that wears the crown. A noted truth in not only professional sport but in most applicable aspects of life. Whether the boss, leader, king or first place team heading into a quarter final play-off match up - it applies. With being at the top of your heap, comes a lot of expectations and responsibility. A certain pressure cooking situation that a select few can handle. Being the odds on favorite can break teams. However there's a reason certain teams are the favorite, it's because they have proven time and time again that they belong there, and can handle the pressure that circumstance bestows upon them.


When the Syracuse Crunch take on the Hartford Wolf-Pack. I don't think there's much doubt who the whole world will be expecting to win. The bookies and pundits will side heavily with the Crunch. And with good reason. The Crunch who had the best record in the entire league during the regular season winning them the Presidents Trophy, have shown us and reaffirmed that they are tops for a reason and have no intentions on relinquishing their claim. In round one they opened up slow, dropping their first game 10-0 in surprising fashion to the Lehigh Ghosts.(Phantoms). A surprising loss that seemed to catch the attention of the sleeping giant; they went on to win three straight all by convincing margins, before dropping a game then closing it out in six. Lead by world class goaltending from @x-Tizz0-x who posted a 87.5 SV% and an impressive 1.25 GAA in the series and goal scorer @RaVerZe- the Crunch come into this series ready. Learning a valuable lesson from round one, and weathering a storm of questions. The Crunch added composure and resolve to their resume. Now moving into round two to face this Wolf-Pack team, there is no question they will be ready come puck drop.


Life after death? A question we've all asked ourselves at least once or twice. The Wolf-Pack now know the answer to the age old question. Playing an exceptional series against the Bruins in round one only to have their life seemingly expire in game six, the Pack laid flat lined on the table of operation. But the fairness of operations employed by the Bruins were brought to question. After a lengthy and thorough evaluation process, league officials decided that game six was to be rightfully awarded to the Wolf Pack. Pushing the series to a decisive game seven. A game that the Wolf-Pack would yet again find themselves in a do or die situation. In a well played defensive game the pack would claim victory over the Bruins by a 3-1 margin. Lead by goaltender @zachparise9 and timely goals from their general @Snagster once again showed that their will to live on was strong.

Dangerous is an entity that has stared death right in the face and lived to tell about it for they shall fear nothing. Not even a Syracuse Crunch team that has hurdled every obstacle thrown it's way. When these two very different stories come together it is certain to be a series we will not soon forget. They say cats have nine lives, well these dogs are working on their third and have no intentions on pulling the plug. So how does the beat of this series go? This one races off tomorrow night 9:30pm est.​
