Man, what a week. A hurricane barrels up the East Coast to start it off and then a shocking development ensues that brings panic into the LGBA world. We'll get into that and more in this week's cup check. Week 1 winners: Our biggest winner has to be Germany, considering the preseason rankings where some considered this team the bottom of their pool. They're 5-1 after dazzling performances by @Kobsos and @ItsDashDummy and even handing Mexico its only loss of the week. This team has scored the most of anyone in week 1 even with USA dropping a 112 point bomb. Germany still plays in a powerful pool with many experienced players and will have to come ready to play week 2 or they'll be praying for an at-large bid. Second is a shocker to most but consider this... even after an awful week where their top pick made little to no impact and their second line was 1-2 they're still in it. Yes, Greece is a winner of week one simply because pool B is awful. There will not be an at-large bid from this group but @Murda Dreams and @OG GrandPoppa are salivating looking at the schedule ahead of them. Our third winner is South Korea. Many believed Israel to run away with the title... cause somehow the league let Rick get Extreme (are u guys thinking????) South Korea took them down in week 1 showing their firepower. This team had to put up a good performance week 1 with pool play looking like a dog fight in pool A. @BWitt x 14 is the reigning MVP for a reason. @Ching OF is a mediocre piece that rounds out the core with @Raynor. Luckily Witt doesn't need much help because he's not getting it from Ching. Honorable mention: @Easy Macaroni and his line for getting free tacos. Storylines to watch: @Jbone151577 is still in the hunt to solidify his spot as an owner. Same with Great Britain because 2 teams will have to make it out of Pool B. Israel still has a lot of experience together and will make it out of that pool. The write up above is not a knock on them but more an acknowledgement that they can be beat. @D Andoo99 is not having fun in the land of Guinness and Jamison. @SavagePatchh will most likely get dunked on multiple times this week.
