The QMJHL takes a lot of crap when it comes to LGCHL PSN: Yes, it’s the easiest conference to make the playoffs in, with only two teams missing the playoffs each season. Yes, it has some historically bad franchises over the years. Yes, most LG players can’t pronounce half the team names properly. However, this is also the conference that produced a Memorial Cup Finalist that managed to upset the Pete Check in Season 9, so give them some credit (but not too much after that sweep). Coming into Season 10, things aren’t changing a whole lot, with a very seasoned group of owners: 11 Returning Owners 2 Owners from Previous Seasons Taking Over New Teams 3 Former GMs Taking Over Teams 2 Brand New Owners For a full list of teams with their owners, please see below. Still, there is plenty of intrigue here: Room at the Top - Ownership did not return for 4 of the top 6 finishers in the QMJHL, including 3 of the 4 final teams in the conference playoffs. What teams will step up in their place? Will a returning owner make a run, or is this room for a new challenger? Dogging It? - Taking over a team that reached the Memorial Cup always draws extra attention. Can @Capsrule19 make another run at the Cup or will there be a regression to the mean? Slumming It? - While I haven’t spent too much time evaluating GMs so far, Cape Breton and @K0_UP_CLOSE bring in a guy with 2+ PPG in the LG NHL, and has never played in the AHL or CHL. Will they be able to build a solid team of CHL talent? Or can they carry a team to a title? Time will tell. At the moment, the QMJHL looks like just about anything can (and will) happen in Season 10. Good luck to everyone heading into Week 1!
