Drew Qc's Worst 5 Owners of Season 17

Happening times for the LGHL! Exciting playoff races, questionable award decisions, an eventful first round of the playoffs, and the new LG Pro Series have left the site abuzz. That being said, I feel we could use some negativity to bring ourselves back down to earth as a community. That's why I'm bringing you my power rankings for the worst 5 owners for season 17 of the LGHL (#1 being the worst). I'm not including anybody who quit because there's limited info to research, and they obviously were shit if they ended up quitting or being removed (whaddup Hanson ). This will obviously be filled with personal bias. If you get butthurt, eat your heart out. That's what I'm hoping to accomplish.

1.) :hdet: JDupuis: I'd like to note that picking Serpe x 13 as a GM is pretty much asking for a miserable season. Add in one of the worst contracts in the league with (LW) Nemzer at 9 mil, and it's no surprise that this team was the worst in the east. (C) Youngn the pmp at 4 mil, (LD) Nate Goodchild at 3 mil, and (LD) xILFxLegion at 3.5 are all terrible contracts as well. Alphabird007 is a good person. Walshinator and Saint2Assasin are both good contracts at 500k. All in all, joke of a season.

2.) :hott:Nox: It's no secret that teams who put tremendous stock in 9th Wonder players usually get bit in the ass. Hopkins is a talented player, but giving him a position of power is begging for trouble. No surprise that he didn't make it to the end of the season. Their D consists of 2 3rd line caliber pairs and an overpaid 1st line featuring W4ll and A B CYAA for a combined 9.25 mil. (C) Cheaaaaa Ok had a decent season, but with no supporting cast it was nearly impossible for him to live up to the 6.5 mil contract. It's no surprise that BillyDahSquid and the boys weren't a competitive group.

3.) :hcol: Vein: This is probably the most disappointing season for an owner considering the talent and community knowledge of both Vein and Playmaker. (C) Flow Sauce Chew at 5.75 mil and (C) HabsGuy11 at 6.75 mil crippled the budget for offense. On D it was a similar story acquiring (LD) cnumartyr for 4.5 mil and (RD) LuckyLuke le D for 4.75 mil. It appears that the mediocre depth players are what brought this team down. Hopefully these two get another crack at it if they're willing.

4.) :htor:Wilksey: A major breakdown in Toronto caused them descend from 1st in the East to 9th in a very short amount of time, allowing Gogel's Hurricanes to make the playoffs. The team was seemingly doomed as soon as (C) FSU at 11.75 mil was traded away. Normally, I'd say that any contract remotely close to that amount is a joke, but Space Jam is quite arguably the best center in the league, and can put up wins even if he has nub line mates. Apparently Wilksey thought the secret to success was having a single ridiculously overpaid ringer, and he subsequently acquired (RW) Lefty at 11.5 mil. The Leafs' offensive depth was nothing to sneer at, but defensive woes buried this team. (RD) Vaporiz at 6 mil isn't necessarily a bad contract, but the rest of the defensive core is an absolute joke. (LD) go to the whip at 3.75 mil, (LD) Flash on Fire at 2.25 mil, and natural center (LD) Title town at 1 mil are all questionable at best. Bob Rooney, MisterBionic, and sinbin74 all at a whopping 500k appear to be what killed this team. All things considered, this is another management team I wouldn't mind having back for another season.

Be advised that TDK's write up is mostly me going off on him.
5.) :hchi: TDK: This man's story is the most perplexing and frustrating thing I've witnessed all season. He took over an absolutely crippled last place AHL caliber team that had been fucked over by both Adams and Hanson and led them to the final playoff spot. I still have no fucking idea how we pulled it off, and I kind of wish we hadn't. The man who can be most credited for Chicago's playoff push is Easy Mac. He's a good person and fairly nub friendly, which seemed to be an appropriate solution to Chicago's lack of firepower. TDK's decision to trade him for some asshole who had previously requested a trade from the team before he ever even played a game, Drew Qc x 17, is probably the most idiotic decision I've ever seen anyone make in my days of internet hockey. Fast forward to the 1st round of the playoffs. TDK completely abandons his responsibility to do stats and costs the Hawks a 2 minute penalty at the beginning of nearly every game, which he sometimes forgot about until the 3rd period. On top of that, TDK was atrocious in net. After he let in 4 goals on 4 shots after a 3rd period restart. Being the team player that I am, I tea bagged him several times in the middle of gameplay. He responded by leaving his goal, and running to center ice in order to put me on the bench for the rest of the game. After the game was over, he bought out my contract and sent me to Rockford. He waited until both his AHL GM and AGM added me and asked me about my availability before calling me back up to the NHL as a Training Camp player. And to top it all off, I received a strike for missing game 6. There was no game 6. As far as the roster goes, (LW) GuiDice at 750k was by far the best contract. Shoutout to 500k (LD) Jheismanziel for keeping it real. Fuck you TDK.

Okay, I'll bite.

I still don't get how Bills is considered a top 5 goalie. He ended the season 27th in save percentage, where as I was in 12th. My record on Edmonton was 12-4-0, his was 14-10-2. A prediction mentioned that he would make a difference in the playoffs, so far he has done that by putting up a save percentage that ranks him 21st out of 32 goalies.

I know that stats aren't everything, but when they're this bad, how can you possibly call him a top goalie?

 

I played him in HUT and he took me to a shootout. Top goalie in my book.
