Well after starting to get a bad taste in my mouth with this game online Im here with my coffee this morning, I guess there are some major glitches on the points/setup affecting cars. EA has spoken on it according to them. Allow my real short story.. Also you can read all over the forums everywhere it seems that the only thing you want to max is the horsepower and when you start putting points into other area's it actually slows you down...that is the "glitch" as they are calling it around the net. So , I have engine horsepower max on speedway and superspeedway, I have aerodynamics pretty close to max, done 43/77 challenges including the one with Gordon in bottom left where you avoid the wreck and have 3 laps to catch him....well yesterday I take a break from the single player to do a race at daytona....now daytona is my fav track....in fact its the ONLY track that I own on friends list, "Mr. Xpress" owns the rest of them, nice job by the way Xpress...anyway, so no time to qualify , started 13th...made my way up to 4th, the top 3 beat me by a little over 23 seconds !? , you mean to tell me that is from not setting up more grille tape or I didnt tweak tire psi enough? come on...if we get a league going and do 1 race per week as a group thats cool, as far as online "supposedly" EA is already working on a patch....now im no expert so if im an idiot here that bad with my setups where I get smoked 23 seconds with a engine horsepower max and not 1 wall scrape..nothing every pass was clean....then by all means plz tell me what im doing wrong, im also utterly clueless when it comes to the whole paint and upload thing if someone wouldnt mind helping me. Thanks and good day.
I'd have to know more about how close you were, how well were the top two drafting, where you using the wheel or controller? The two superspeedways all come down to being smooth and drafting. If your using a controller and scrubing your tires entering a turn, then I could easily see you finishing that far behind. Hopefully that means it all comes down to setup, as it should.
Yeah, there seems to be a few problems that need patching; performance points online (I dunno about the other sliders slowing you down as I've only played online once, but I can buy it as the performance points seem a little weird), the atrocious lobby system, custom paint jobs (they take WAY too long to show up online and if they're only limited to people on your friends list, shouldn't they be saved somewhere?). Heck, I think they should tone down performance points overall. I have my speedway/superspeedway/short track cars maxed out, and there's something wrong when my engine is so powerful that I'm hitting the rev limiter halfway down the straightaway at Martinsville with the default veteran setup.
I use the pro mode - and vet setup. Since the above post I have had the chance to talk to a couple of guy's that had already passed the 5500 rep point and had "100" cars, which when spending points is the number at the top. Here is what them and most everybody on nascar09 thread said. The "glitch" as they call it is not the fact that the performance carries over into online, it is this....spend all your points on the horsepower alone, when you add points to the other 3 categories it slows your car down alot, and it must be pretty bad if these guys were willing to start all over and ONLY add the points to the engine. Out of the other 3 the "aero- dynamics" was the worst one, which I went too after the engine's were max , Im not starting over though. So, thats what everybody is/and saying patch it, and if you havent enough put points into nothing but the engine so far then your fine. Thats what I meant about 1 (or more) race with the league is pretty much the only online interested in. I also finally got my "kid-dynomite" achievement (200mph) yesterday from one of the guys, just went to talladega and put the grill tape to 95 percent and presto got it. Anyway, that seems to be the reason for alot of questions I had, good day.
I haven't spent any of my points yet because of all the crap going on. Looks like I'll just spend them on the engine and that's it. I've been trying to do all the challenges so I'll be ready to go online when the time comes.
The games I hosted yesterday I did not see any option for this, in fact I was looking for it, so they carry over and not only on the made cars , I have used nothing but the 48 and Jimmy...the other info I posted about all of this can be found on the EA forums and Xbox.com forums I say that because im the "new" guy here on the forums and im talking alot but just trying to help, anyway, if any thing it is still fun single player and I bought the wheel knowing one day that "BaJa" would be out, I race during the daytimes btw if anyone wants to race I have some of you on friends list feel free to send a message, I dont mind hosting them. Good day.
Then I say we make everyone have a seperate "league" profile on a memory card or something, with all points at default. It'd be kinda hard to enforce but would probably be the best bet.
Would actually be pretty easy to enforce since when you host a game you could make sure everyone has a 0 rep, because if you have no rep you have no performance points.
you can highlight each individuals name and can see how much rep they have when in the lobby before the race.
