First of all, congratulations to our winners and thank you to those who helped make Event 1 of ESHL Season 2 run smoothly. There were a few hiccups, but for the most part we achieved a lot of what we set out to do and worked out a few problems to improve the league for Event 2. Thank you to @l1l Bones l3l, @Scheckel29, @Odieeeeee, @Zincyyyy, @JmOnEy2436, @hgSparty, @Nuge, and @SweeT 9 LoU 84 for helping out as a part of the ESHL committee. Thanks to @Tris10 and @LG McDonald for allowing this event to be possible.

In this post you'll see our Awards, our rule changes going into Event 2, and any other important announcements.

    RULE & SCHEDULE CHANGES
We reviewed some of the rules that were put in place for event #1 and decided to revamp a couple of them. Below you will find the rules we changed, the rules we'd like to re-iterate (no changes), and some new rules and scheduling changes. These are effective immediately.

    Roster Rule Changes & Reiterations:

    1. In order to be eligible to hold your spot in invite and/or your tournament points, your team must have 5 players on the roster from the end of the previous season. You may use these 4 roster additions/changes at any time you'd like (during the season, between seasons), but you only get 4 total from the offseason to the end of the regular season of event 2. There must be at least 1 on your roster who has been with your team since the time of the original signup to hold eligibility.

    2. A roster of 8 players = no position lock or position requirements.

A roster of 9 players = 7 skaters, 2 goalies. Only one of your goalies is allowed to fill in as a skater on occasion. They must finish the season with more games played as a goalie than a skater otherwise their games played as a skater will be overturned. Once one goalie plays as a skater, the other goalie is not eligible to play out as a skater.

Any skater can play as a G if necessary without any restrictions.

In playoffs, the appointed goalie must finish the series with more games played as a G than a skater. If a team fails to meet this requirement, the opposing team will be given FF wins until the goalie meets the required games played at G.

    3. Once a player is dropped from a roster, they cannot rejoin said roster for the remainder of the current season. They may rejoin that team for following offseason/season or in the future, however that team will be charged a roster move and they will be considered a new player (not part of the 5/9).

    4. A roster drop does not count as a roster move, but any addition after that will. (ex. a team can drop a player to run 8 players instead of 9 as long as its done before the deadline).

    5. During a season, a team may not use a roster move on a player who is currently/or was formerly on the roster of a team from the same division. At the conclusion of that event and before the start of the next event, there are no restrictions on where a player is added from, as long as they have an LG account. Teams may pick up players who were on other Invite/Main/Open teams in the previous season

    6. In order to drop a player during a season, teams must get permission from that player OR provide proof that that player was being uncooperative/not able to play/inactive. Between each event a team does NOT require permission to drop a player.

    7. A team may take an event off under the following rules:
    • They will lose their spot in invite & start back in open.
    • They will hold their tournament points as long as they hold 5/9 players from their roster.
    • Players who join other teams will be treated as roster moves. In order to rejoin their team in the future they will be considered new players and not count as a 5/9.
    • They will lose their tournament points if they do not participate in at least 2/3 events.

    Schedule Changes & Reiterations:

    1. With the PS4 league no longer following the same format as Xbox, Xbox will now have 8 games per week. Sunday and Thursday are our designated days.

    2. Game times will now be 9:30/10:00 and 10:30/11:00 PM EST every Sunday and Thursday.

    3. Teams will now have 12 minutes to show up with 6 eligible players. If a team does not show up within the 12 minute window, the opponent is able to call a FF. This rule does not apply if a team is late due to another ESHL Xbox game. Other league games (for example, LG NHL, AHL, CHL, ESHL PSN etc.) are not viable excuses to be late for a game.

    3. Playoff schedules will be created based off of each team's availability. Teams will provide their availabilities to the league prior to the start of playoffs. The limitations of these time slots will be from Sunday – Thursday from 9:00 PM EST - 11:00 PM EST. If there are no mutual time slots or poor availability is given, league default times will be selected and will not be negotiable.

    4. Under no circumstances will there be any reschedules unless the league initiates one.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

    EVENT 2 QUALIFIER & ETA
With our first event under our belts, we will move forward to event 2 in the new year (aiming somewhere between Jan 7th and 14th for the qualifier start). This is where things get interesting. With the lack of success of this event on PS4, there are a couple of full PS4 teams making the switch to Xbox. There will also be a ton of quality PS4 players making the switch without their teams and will make for some great free agents. There have also been a ton of rumours that some invite teams will be splitting up and losing their eligibility. The league has a plan of action in order to fill the remainder of the Invite spots if they become available.

The current Invite division looks like this:

    1. Big Baller Brand
    2. Composure
    3. Valor [???]
    4. The Bomb Squad [???]
    5. Raw Talent
    6. Delusions
    7. Turning Point
    8. Rated R
    9. Hall of Fame
    10. Simplicity
    11. --[Available]--
    12. --[Available]--
Regardless of how many of these spots become available after we see the final signups, there will be a play-in for all teams that do not currently hold a spot in invite. That means new teams, open teams, and ps4 teams are all welcome to sign up and qualify for the available spots. This is a special occasion considering the influx of PS4 players switching over. The league makes no promises that there will be a qualifier of this scale before future events.

Depending on the number of available spots, the format for seeding is TBD. If there is only one spot, we will most likely do a random seeding as only 1 team earns the spot. If there is more than one spot, we currently have this seeding format (highest to lowest): Tournament Points, Prior League Finish Xbox, Prior League Finish PS4, New Teams.

However, we do not see this as perfect and will be looking in to revising this.

Note: Teams will pay the Open fee prior to participation in the qualifier. If they qualify for invite they will then be asked to pay the rest of the money prior to the league start.

Thanks to those who stuck it out to the end.

@jonlol so teams that want to qualify have to buy in for the open, say they don't make it and then don't want to participate in the open, do they get their money back?

No they are not refunded. If you're not willing to play in the open division when you don't qualify than you're going to pay $170 to quit. The league needs a competitive open division and if we allow teams to back out like last year there will be 6 teams again.

    Cha-cha-changeees.

Thanks your our committee for keeping me in line.

Here are some things to note going forward:

    1. As per the original rules, the relegation game involving the 2nd place open team and 11th and 12th place from invite will continue forward as just that, with one exception. 11th place Jay Rulez Summer Cupz forfeited out the last 5+ games of the year, effecting seeding heavily. They are in the same boat as Hidden Potential and will not be allowed to participate in the relegation match. If Unfinished Business and 9th Wonder still exist, they will play a 5 game series to see who plays in Invite. If one team fails to provide an eligible roster they will FF the series. The winning team will advance. If both teams fail to provide an eligible roster, the Invite spot will be part of the following:

    2. All remaining available invite spots will be decided by a play in consisting of any PS4 teams coming over, losers of the relegation [UFB or 9th], remaining open teams, and any new teams being formed. seeding format as followed: Tournament Points, PS4 teams Playoff teams with 5/9 from their PS4 roster [this event only], new teams consisting of at least 5 former Invite players, Xbox Open teams, completely new teams.

    3. New events will be handled as: Champion of Open is moved up to Invite. 10th place Invite and 2nd place Open will have a relegation match and 11th place Invite and 12th Place Invite get sent to a qualifier event (seeded as above). Loser of the relegation and any new teams may play in the qualifier with 11th, 12th and any other open teams.

Ya game times still the same as fucking lg lol.

Still stealing money from open teams who have no fucking way mathmatically to qualify for end of year tourney.

PS4 collasped because PS4 is a fucking joke and they now get special treatment to qualify.

    Position locking lol.... fucking joke.

Only half the teams are even returning from last season. Have to make rules limiting who can be on teams so if you change more than like 2 guys you get your money stolen. Makes it so people who are backups and want to go start somewhere else can force teams to dissolve.

Such a waste of an opportunity.
