Finding cures. Saving children

With christmas right around the corner, let’s not forget that some families won’t be spending their holiday if the comfort of their own home.

About 8,500 kids go through St Judes Children’s Research Hospital every year. More than 75% of their annual costs are covered by donors, with nearly 11 million active donors to this day.

My grammar school started hosting fundraisers when i was 6 years old, and I send a holiday card with a donation every year. It’s a 15 year tradition that I’m proud of, and I encourage you all to do it as well. Any and all donations are happily accepted and can be done on their website.

Imagine having to pay for healthcare, while ~680 billion of the country's tax money going to the military. Greatest and freest country in the world btw.

 

It’s a small price we pay for not living in Canada.

You can argue until you’re blue in the face, but America is the powerhouse of the world, not Canada. I’m fine paying 75$ for a doctors visit.

It's not the 1930s anymore, no 1st world country is gonna full on invade and goto war with another 1st world country. It will completely ruin both theirs and the world's economy if that happened. Same reason why China can totally ruin the US economy anytime they want just by selling all the US debt they hold, but they wont. Plus America prob has the most invasion since WW2 ended, but pretty much whole world is lowkey against them now. No major country will ever invade or goto war with CAnada.

 

Ya they are for now, but 100% they wont maintain that status in the future with that YUGEEEE national debt. Empires always collapses from within, not from outside forces.

 

I feel like instead of people clashing against one another because of which country they are from, they should be donating/helping those in need. First of all this thread is about awareness for kids with cancer, leave it to an arrogant Canadian to make it about healthcare.

Secondly, I don’t claim to have ever taken a course to know enough about Canada, or looked into it enough to compare, but just a few quick notes from google searches.

93.6% of your oil fields are ran through Texas corporations.

73% exports go to US, 63% imports come from US.



I get you watched Fox News a few times, but anyone can do a google search and seem smart.

So for your sake you better hope our “empire” continues to go on, because without the United States you’d pretty much cease to exist.

The trade numbers are heavily with US than any other country because of trades deals and if you haven't noticed Canada and US are neighboring countries that prob share the longest border in the world. Obv any country would trade with neighbors over long distance since its way cheaper to do so. You acting like if US ceased to exist Canada wouldn't shift those trades to different countries thought the world. Ya the economy will suffer, but that would happen to US or any other 1st world country if another 1st would country cease to exist out of nowhere where they already had trade deals with. Pro athletes get paid in US dollars bc all major sports there are way more American teams than Canadian teams.

Also nah I dont watch Fox News, but you seem like you do and the type that will chant USA! USA! USA! in sporting events like a blind patriotic clown.
