would a double elimination bracket really take that much longer?
don't have the final game where losers bracket meets winners bracket. just have like a 'A' final for winner bracket and 'B' final for losers bracket.
games 29, 30 and 31 wouldn't be played.
Either of these ideas are great in my mind. I think the best idea is to only have 6 players per team if you do single elimination to save time, since not playing at all because your team lost first round makes people waste their time sitting by xbox only to end up not playing at all. If all the teams use the same roster every game, the games can be set up much faster and the tourney go much faster.
With regards to having more teams since the roster size is smaller, you could simply split into multiple tournaments by random. In the end it is for fun, the winners of each bracket don't have to play vs each other.
was an amazing time imo. I had a blast with @Thee Mr Master @Stifmeister x 7 @KuhBoBo @OTPDHJ Connor @Breaky x 11 @Bolduc x l99l and who ever else I missed!
"B champs" dafuq?
its called 3rd/4th place lol
not really. losers of winners bracket semis would play for 3rd and 4th. if there was a consolation.
i wrestled for 8 years, any semi losers would have to "wrestleback" in the losers bracket to place 3rd/4th
says any double elim bracket ever
yeah but its not a double elimantion. I was just trying to make it a short tourney. guaranteed 2 games so guys who sit first game would at least play a game. hockey tournaments I played in the past have done this in the past to make tournaments shorter.
if they wanted to make it a weekend thing. then double elim or maybe even triple elim can be added. but because of time issues I came up with this idea.
This is all a nice thought but we are happy with how things are right now. It makes it more special and important when you can be one and done.
Had a great time with this and enjoyed it much more as owner.
I'd love to do it again next Friday.
