Ok Dad's and the occasional Mom, With the recent LT nerfs and what not, i want to see what the community thinks. Do you think the game is most fun/competitive in the following situations: - Slower paced, more tight knit. Probably alot of rebounds/Less LT's and more simple hockey - Fast paced, more agility, harder shots probably. Would also have more goals coincidentally.
I liked 2k's slow game style, but EA's slow style is just the worst. I'm not sure what they're trying to go for anymore, stuff they add to the newer games contradicts what they in turn decide to target in updates. Extremely bizzare process. Oh hey we added better puck pickups so you can make decisions with speed now! Oh wait naw whats this LT again you all need to slow down now! Oh what you want higher rated players hah enjoy Dan Cleary hockey. It's what everyone fucking wants to play as right, a fucking 4th liner. Anyways I liked the old gen, I barely play anymore without eye rolling thee entire time. It is also the worst esports game I have ever watched, entertainment wise they got a long way to go. Stop trying to make the game realistic you are bad at it, maybe focus on the fun aspect for once.
would NHL be more enjoyable to watch if the game was more creative/less of an interception trap based game?
Just need to go how the beta was. I like the nerf of the LT but need to go back to faster skating when you have a head of steam
Jody is a legend here in Nova Scotia. fast pace game hands down , old gen style. The real NHL is a super fast game that gets faster every year.. the video game shouldn’t be doing the opposite. Reward those with fast reflexes and reaction times to create that skill gap.
NHL 15 was so much better than the mess new gen has been. The game was so much faster and creative and it felt like there was actually space to operate with on the ice. The only really issue then was how OP some builds were with puck pull-backs. I actually liked this game at first, especially the beta, but it feels like with every patch the game gets worse and worse.
face paced, simple hockey EA Slow paced, sim hockey is just a little too boring - too much RNG - Incidental contact (own team and opposing team) sticks, skates, body parts - Collision detection (too much running into each other without the puck when cutting, switching, defending instead of slipping by like on old gen) - Bumps (time spent in the animation to react when bumped, actual bumps are fine) - speed separation (gap is too little, was AMAZING in the beta) - Puck Physics - too much bouncy puck, ping pong hockey k I don't think we like arcade style hockey like 3s eliminator and all that, its too much - hitting too crazy - bonus pucks - negative pucks - small rink We want the speed and pace of the arcade style games with the realistic hockey game from sim hockey. A hybrid is what they shoot for, its just hard to please everyone and they seem to advertise speed and skill in their marketing and trailers and gameplay but then don't use it in the main game modes (EASHL/VS/HUT) just in the arcade modes of 3s and 1st
Older years Ea games were awesome the matchmaking also made it more fair for a west guy anyways haha and dang nhl 2k was the shit wonder if they will ever bring it back?
It be nice if it felt more like real hockey. Chips and board play, team cycle game, line change for energy
Gameplay changes? Na. I know! This franchise needs an audio update to make sure we have some scripted nonsense in the background that repeats itself every game. Better yet, let's have some clueless celebrity who thinks the NHL has a half-time do some creative commentary. (oh wait)
