How better is he then Nenn? They've had good closers before, they'll do the same as any other year...

Na, look how good they have done the past 2 years without Nen or a closer of any sort. This year missed playoffs by 1 game, last year they were in the playoffs. Benitez improved this year so much and he is only going to get better i believe, i guess we will see who is right

Benitez has the potential to be the best closer in baseball in my opinion.

Giants...I just don't see it happening for them. If Dodgers can get Beltre back, they still have Gagne and the rest of the team, trying to sign a big name pitcher, and all, I think if they can get Beltre and that pitcher back, they will get another title.

Only reason Giants even came close to winning the division last year is because Dodgers started choking down the stretch. If Dodgers would have kept up what they had been doing last season, Giants would have been down by quite a few games.

The fact of the matter is one man can't make a difference. The whole team has to perform but this might be what they needed to gain confidence. Good luck to the Giants, but Cubs are my priority. Heck, even Nomar Garciaparra couldn't change the Cubs fate. Although, a closer is a big thing so it might help a little.

Well look they don't just have one guy, now with this closer all those games they blew in the 9th inning like their 2nd to last game (OMG I WAS SO PISSED) will be cleaned up and more victories there way. It's not like this is there only good player (DUh). You can all have your opinions, but we will see who the NL West Div. Champs are this year!

I never ment that the Giants are not a great team. The man leading them though was Bonds. Everyone needs to step up a little bit more then they did already, but that 9th inning issue will probably stop. Keep in mind that other teams may be better. I kind of think Cubs and Giants will both make it to the playoffs with the Cubs taking the Central. It's time for us to end the Cards like the Red Sox did.
