Hello as everyone in the gaming world knows tonight for some is the Launch of Halo 3  and all im asking can some of you take some photos of your midnight lauches (if your going) The one near me isnt as hyped as you north americans are stores open for an hour!!!
I thought about it but I'm not going out, by the time I got there, got the game and got home I would have about 4.5 hours before I would have to get up for work.
I am not going either. I thought about it and I got a message the other day saying that I need to get there by 9pm. I have no intrest standing on line to get it (and probably wouldnt get the game till 1am at the earliest). I will be taking a early lunch tom and pick it up then.
i went after work seen the lineup at eb games and i was like screw that too big of a lineup then we went to best buy and another big lineup i'm like screw it i'll just pick it up tommorow as i got it pre-ordered anyways. So i will have it sometime today see you guys all online.
I went last night to future shop around 11pm. I was about 20th in line. The total people there I would say was around 80 max. Meanwhile the eb games 10 mins away had over 300 people...
My gf came home at like 11:30 and i asked her if she wanted to go for a drive to futureshop. Got there at like 5min too. There was more then enough copies, and my store had a promotion that if you bought Halo 3 , you also got a free copy of that fantastic 4 game. So i got a free game!
did the midnight launch for Halo 2. i worked late and then went to a Gamestop in NYC. i didn't feel like hanging out at work all night again (just did on Friday night), so I WAS going to wait until Tuesday after work to pick it up. BUT...when I went to get NHL 08 at my local Gamestop (3 blocks away), I found out they were doing the midnight launch too. so i decided to go. got there about 11:30p after a FHL draft at a friends house. about 75 people on line. there are actually 2 Gamestops in a 3 block radius near me. not sure if the lines were any different. they didn't let anyone in the store until about 5 minutes after 12. things were going smoothly until about 10 people in front of me (12:30a) when the Limited Edition w/free scratched discs was discovered. that slowed things down as the manager started to deal with those people. 2 guys who had read about it online had opened theirs up before leaving, which started the problems. while this was going on, i even noticed someone who had gone home with the Limited version come back to the store b/c it was scratched and would not play. the manager swapped out a bunch of copies before telling people they had 2 weeks to come back and swap it out...or just pickup the regular version. there wasn't much he could do, as almost every copy had some scratches. i picked up my Limited Edition and opened it up. Game disc was fine, disc two had some minor scratches. i kept it, with plans to swap it out if Microsoft does something, or just swap at Gamestop when some non-scratched copies come in.
it turned out that my gamestop had 80-100 people and they were finished by 12:30. Next time I will probably run up and grab it. I just didnt want to get stuck there for a long time.
kind of. the discs are not on the spindle securely enough. they pop off and then bounce around during shipping/handling. i could tell mine was loose as soon as i picked it up.
Went to Target around 10:30 this morning....there was a big display that had about 100 normal games and 50 Limited Editions (it wasn't in the glass case or anything). There was no one around the case although it did look like it had been picked over and restocked already. I picked up a LE copy, gave it a shake and felt the disk rolling around in the package, put it down and picked up a normal copy and walked to the checkout. In and out in 5 mins.
I got mine at Best Buy for $69.99 Canadian with 5 bucks off for pre-ordering. It came with a t-shirt, camoflage mic and window sticker poster sized.
