Here is the Fix for Input Delay - posted on pg 1 initial post (also includes past posts)

I have 100 down and 20 up , how good dose NHL 18 take to run smooth , and the game was running fine till 2 weeks ago . Have concrete in my skates

 

What I am getting now is consistent 17-20ms ping, but it always feels like 100+. Playing on a 1ms gaming monitor. Never had this problem before.

 

I have 160 download and 20 upload with a 1ms gaming monitor and i run on 7 ping almost every game and it feels like absolute garbage. No other games give me problems. The game is just trash. One thing don't get is how a lot of times when my guys is moving like an elephant on skates, missing every puck, it seems that the other team is going 400 miles an hour and grabbing everything from impossible angles. #firerammer.

Hey bud. Ive been dealing with it for 2 years almost going onto 3. I played 09, 16,17 but that was mostly online versus and single player modes. Up until maybe 18, but for sure 19,20 and 21 and thats where I started noticing it really. Ive tried blocking your IP address that you put up and it worked for a bit then I traced my own route to that IP address and blocked the IP addresses that lead to it and even that 20.7 one at the end which helped again but the next day or 2 it all came back. I dont understand why. I would like to figure out what my router is routing my traffic to and from so I can figure out what other IP addressses I need to block. Its very frustrating. I know I should probably just stop but when I message guys about it they trash talk and think im making excuses. I need this fixed permanently. I watch other guys play and its like they dont have any problems at all. It feels like its only me but on this site I see other people get something similar and its very bad not being able to be precise with my movement as I once was. I was great then something happened. 1 game I had in the middle of it I felt it get better server changed or something. I cant pinpoint the times or days or conditions that this happens. If you got anything other thing that can help I would appreciate it a lot.

Guys this was from almost 4 years ago and was only part of the input delay solution. There was a captain overlay in the code that created the delay for players. The IP side was also an issue on routing but hasn’t been an issue since NHL 17. Wish I could help here but no dice.

EA servers are just shit end of day and ping impacts this game more than any other out there

 

Actually it is still an issue. I have begun having the input delay since a year and half to 2 years ago in Nhl 19 or 20. Sometimes clearing mac address or clearing local saved games or signing in with different accounts and alternating between them which actually makes us reconnect to servers which makes me think it is that problem with connecting through EU server. I have blocked that IP which helped for a day. Came back next day. Then I went blocked the EU IPS that I found with the trace to the 159.***.20.7 IP Address. and I looked at that one specifically as well which was apparently located in EU so I blocked that one and I was still able to connect online to the EA NHL servers and was pretty good for 2 days. So this is still affecting people to this day. Best believe it. Now I am stuck still getting it and having to reconnect to servers hoping to be routed properly its very frustrating. It even affects the AI not just input delay. Even if you dont believe it, could you help me by directing me to some program or what kind of router I would need to find out the route that my traffic is taking for that current game that I am playing? This way I can block all the EU IPs I come across. Its not the servers themselves because then everybody would be affected. Its the route my traffic takes to the server. It is usually only me and not the other team. Im sure you can help some how. Heard of something perhaps.

Ping is fine for me. Im usually at 35-40. So its not a ping issue like that.

 

Forgot to add that its not even just being captain. For me its every game regardless.

@frosty l7l Its even in WoC so not limited to HUT. I apparently blocked the 159.153.20.7 because it is showing up european and blocked a couple IPs that were showing Europe. (At least I think I'm blocking them, it appeared to help at one point but I found out by tracing route through command prompt that they are still being routed through EU. Not showing a different route at all. I also have Cogent communication and zip zayo in there which shows AMS and NL which I assume is Amsterdam and Netherlands but when I look them up they show US on IP lookups. (If you look up the 159.153.20.7 online youll see that it says Europe holland etc.) But they are showing high pings so I guess they actually are in AMS, NL. Ill block those ones after and see what happens. It still is a problem to this day. Has nothing to do with being captain. I was fine like 2 years ago then around there Ive been getting bad delay every single game. This seems to be the problem. So please even if you dont deal with it anymore help a fellow chel player out. Is there any advice that can help get rid of it so I can play some decent games for once like everybody else?

Did you ever figure out how to fix this? I'm having the EXACT same issue. It makes the game unplayable, and It makes it to where I literally cant compete in WoC. If you've had any luck resolving this, PLEASE let me know, I would do ANYTHING for this issue to be resolved. I feel like an idiot when I tell people the issue and I hate being useless on the ice. Any update on this would be extremely appreciated, thank you.

I either connect to 159.153.228.21 or like 159.153.228.17

2 servers. They are Ireland servers, I block all 6 of the servers that come up from 159.153.228.17 to 159.153.228.22 and it doesnt let me connect to EA servers at all. It wont redirect me to the proper server in NA. This is NHL 22. There is delay regardless of being a captain in WoC or playing HUT. Really unplayable. @frosty l7l

Hey man, I would really like to know how you found that IP address. I would like to find out if thats the same IP address for all nhl games from EA or if I need to find another one just like it. Because this other guy and I are getting the issue. Its the same problem except not just for captain lag. Theres one guy who actually blocked it for nhl 17 and it worked so I'll try it one more time. But would really like to know if you can find out if thats the same IP for nhl 22. Please and thank you

 

@frosty l7l the other picture is too large it says but I'm using Wireshark and found this IP address that I'm sending traffic to. The Europe routing is still affecting people in nhl 22 bro. You are the one that is into this like me but you have more resources and tools to do something about it. Don't let us down. I believe in you.
